We are delighted to announce that Mr. Kamran Ahmed, a resident of Shimshal, has successfully qualified both the test and interview for the Pakistan Army Commission. This remarkable achievement makes him the first formal army officer from the scenic Shimshal Valley.
On behalf of Shimshal TV, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Kamran Ahmed for this significant accomplishment. His dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving the nation are truly commendable.

ہے دعا یاد مگر حرف دعا یاد نہیں
میرے نغمات کو وہ اندازِ نوا یاد نہیں
زندگی تو جیسے مسلسل تبدیلیوں کا ہی نام ہے، وقت بدلتا ہے، حالات بدلتے ہیں، طور طریقے بدل جاتے ہیں، اور کبھی کبھی اکثر ہم خود بدل جاتے ہیں، البتہ کچھ لوگوں کے لئے تو یادیں انمول ہوتی ہیں، اور یادوں میں ماضی کے گزرے کچھ لمحے صدیاں بن جاتے ہیں، اور وہ صدیاں ماضی کے ان ہی دریچوں میں روشن دیوں کی طرح ہمیشہ جلتے ہی رہتے ہیں۔ البتہ یہ زندگی کی مسلسل تبدیلیوں کا خوف ہی ہے کہ انسان ان دیوں کو جلائے رکھتا ہے۔

پاکستان کے شمال میں قراقرم کے پہاڑی سلسلے میں، صدیوں تک شمشال کی واخی خواتین مویشی بان راج کرتی رہی ہیں۔
کئی نسلوں سے جاری اس سفر میں وہ اپنے ہزاروں جانوروں کے ہمراہ، ہزاروں فٹ کی بلندی پر واقع سرسبز چراگاہوں تک پہنچتیں۔
ان کی آمدنی نے صحت، تعلیم، حتی کہ شمشال کی پہلی سڑک کی تعمیر میں مدد کی۔ ان مویشی بان خواتین کی محنت نے ان کی کمیونٹی کی زندگی بدل دی۔
آج جب ان کا منفرد طرزِ زندگی ختم ہو رہا ہے، بی بی سی کی ٹیم نے ان خواتین کے ہمراہ دوردراز چراگاہوں کا سفر کیا، اور ان سے اُس جگہ اور ہنرمندی کے بارے میں جانا جو ان کی کامیابی کی وجہ بنی ۔
انہی مویشی بانوں میں سے ایک، افروز نما، رواں برس بی بی سی کی ۱۰۰ خواتین کی فہرست میں بھی شامل ہیں۔

In Nomus members of the community in possession of sufficient wealth “sponsor” a bridge, trail or building, for the community’s benefit, by providing resources for the project and food for those who provide free labour.
