Today marked the 49th Meeting of the Sikkim Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, held at Sharma’s Bhawan, Sokeythang Tadong. Key members from the Labour Department, state officials, employer and worker representatives attended.

As this was my first meeting as chairman, I am optimistic about the positive changes we can bring. We discussed essential issues such as building hostels for workers' children, creating online systems for cess collection, improving facilities at Rangpo Transit Camp, and providing pensions to registered workers. Additionally, we talked about organizing health camps and appointing tuition teachers.

I wish and hope for the best for all, as we work together to enhance the welfare of construction workers in Sikkim.
