Notification regarding Counting of Votes on 2nd & 4th June 2024, at the Counting Centre
Government B. Ed. College Soreng, the 100-meter periphery of Government B. Ed. College, Soreng has been identified as a sanitized zone hence, in order to prevent the entry of unauthorized persons inside the counting premises and for maintenance of law and order during counting process for ensuring peaceful conduct of counting in the district, the following venues have been identified for the gathering of supporters of various political parties on 2nd & 4th June 2024 in the district as under:

Tomorrow on 29th May 2024 on the occasion of 110th Birth Anniversary of Mountaineer Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and 71st Everest Summit Day, Amar S***a the Marathon Man of Sikkim and his student Pritam Rai will be taking part in 32 km run from Jorethang to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) Darjeeling as a part of paying tribute to the legendary Mountaineer and the first Everester Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. The tribute run is being supported by HMI Principal and Group Captain Shri Jai Kishan and Dr. Dawa Sherpa Chief Coordinator Adventure Tourism GTA.
Amar S***a also appeals the central government to consider Tenzing Norgay Sherpa for Prestigious Bharat Ratna award for that Late Mountaineer's contribution towards his country be recognized.

सिक्किमको गुमेको प्रतिष्ठा फिर्ता गर्न जनताले एसडीएफलाई सरकारमा फिर्ता गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छन् : श्री चामलिङ

सिक्किम डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रण्ट (एसडीएफ ) अध्यक्ष श्री पवन चामलिङले भने, एसडीएफ पार्टीको पहिलो धर्म र कर्म नै सिक्किमको शान्ति, सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित गर्नु हो। यसैले एसडीएफ पार्टीका कार्यकर्ता र नेताले शान्ति सुरक्षा कायम गर्नुपर्छ। हामीलाई जनताले शान्ति र सुरक्षाका लागि मतदान गरेका छन्, यसैले जनताको विश्वासमा हामी खडा हुनसक्नुपर्छ।

मंगलबार इन्दिरा बाईपासस्थित एसडीएफ भवनमा पार्टीको केन्द्रिय कार्यकारिणी समिति (सीईसी)-को सभालाई सम्बोधन गर्दै एसडीएफ अध्यक्ष श्री चामलिङले यस्तो विचार राखेका हुन्। पार्टी पदाधिकारीहरूलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै श्री चामलिङले भने, यसपालीको चुनाउ परिणामले सिक्किम र सिक्किमेली जनताको भाग्य र भविष्यको दिशा तय गर्नेछ। उनले भने, एसडीएफ सरकार गठन भयो भने सिक्किम र सिक्किमेली जनताको सुरक्षा हुनेछ, सिक्किममा शान्ति कायम हुनेछ अनि सिक्किममा सिक्किमेको राज हुनेछ।
लोकसभा र विधानसभा चुनाउपछि पहिलोपल्ट बसेको पार्टीको केन्द्रिय कार्यकारिणी समिति (सीईसी) को सभामा श्री चामलिङले भने, वर्तमान सरकारले जनताको मनोभावना अनुसार काम गर्न सकेन, 2019 को चुनाउमा जनतालाई दिएका वचन पुरा गर्न सकेन अनि सिक्किम र सिक्किमे जनताको हित विपरीत काम गरेका कारण नै जनताले एसडीएफलाई सरकारमा फर्काउने निर्णय गरेका छन्। अब हामीले जनताको इच्छा, आकांक्षा र विश्वास अनुसार सिक्किम र सिक्किम जनताको हित र जीतका लागि काम गर्नु पर्नेछ। उनले भने, जनताले हामीलाई सिक्किमको गुमेको प्रतिष्ठा फिर्ता गर्न सरकारमा फिर्ता गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छन्।

एसडीएफ अध्यक्षले भने, बितेको पाँच वर्षमा सिक्किम क्रान्तिकारी मोर्चा (एसकेएम) सरकारले सिक्किमे जनतालाई अन्याय, अपमान, अत्याचार गरेको छ। सिक्किमको अस्तित्व संकटमा पारेको छ। राज्यको शान्ति सुरक्षा भङ्गभएको छ, कानुनको राज समाप्त भएको छ, आर्थिक अवस्था लथालिङ्ग भएको छ। उनले जनताले सिक्किमको भाग्य र भविष्य बनाउन अनि सिक्किमलाई व्यवस्थित गरेर ट्रऱ्याकमा ल्याउन भनेर एसडीएफलाई सरकारमा पुऱ्याउने निर्णय गरेका हुन्। हामीले जनताको निर्णयलाई सम्मान गरेर जनाकांक्षा अनुसार काम गर्नुपर्नेछ।

एसडीएफले जित्दा सिक्किमेको जीत हुनेछ, सिक्किममा शान्ति स्थापना हुनेछ, जनताको मनमा शान्ति हुनुपर्नेछ भन्दै उनले पार्टीका नेता र कार्यकर्तालाई चुनाउ परिणाम पछि शान्ति सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित गर्न आफ्नो जिम्मेवारी निर्वाह गर्न निर्देश दिँदै हामीले जनताप्रति विश्वासघात गर्नु हुँदैन भने। उनले जनतालाई धम्की दिने, कुटपिट गर्ने काम हाम्रो पार्टीका कार्यकर्ताहरूले गर्नु हुँदैन भन्दै सिक्किमेली जनतालाई शान्ति र सुरक्षा दिनु हाम्रो कर्म पनि हो धर्म पनि हो, भने।

श्री चामलिङले भने, आउँदो एसडीएफ 2.0 को सरकार नयाँ पुस्ताको संस्कारित सरकार हुनेछ। कानुनमा चल्ने सरकार हुनेछ। हामीले सबैमाथि समान व्यवहार गर्नुपर्छ। यसले नयाँ सरकार चारित्रिक रूपमा परिवर्तन भएको सरकार हुनेछ, जनताको सरकार हुनेछ। हाम्रो दृष्टिकोमा व्यापक परिवर्तन हुनेछ।
उनले नयाँ सरकारमा जनताले केवल कानुनसँग र भगवानसित मात्र डराउनु पर्ने बताउँदै सिक्किममा विधिको शासन स्थापना गरेर सिक्किमेको हक अधिकारको सुरक्षा एसडीएफ 2.0 सरकारमा हुने बताए।

श्री चामलिङले आउँदो सरकार जनताको कल्याण, विकास र सुरक्षा गर्ने सरकरार हुनेछ भन्दै सरकार जनताको मन अड्याउने ठाउँ बन्नेछ भने। उनले आउँदो सरकारमा कसैमाथि भेदभाव नहुने, कुनै प्रकारको राजनीतिक भिक्टिमाइजेसन नहुने, राजनीतिक उत्पीडन नहुने वचन दिँदै भने, हामी जनताको हक हित र अधिकारसित कदापी सम्झौता गर्नेछैनौं। श्री चामलिङले जनतालाई लोकतान्त्रिक अधिकार प्रयोग गर्दै चुनाउमा सक्रियताका साथ सहभागिता जनाएकोमा बधाई दिँदै कृतज्ञता प्रकट गरे। उनले चुनाउमा खट्ने सबै तहका पार्टीका नेता र कार्यकर्ताहरूलाई उनीहरूको परीश्रम, त्याग र योगदानका लागि कृतज्ञाता प्रकट गरे।

यसभन्दा अघि पार्टीकी संस्थापक सदस्य सिच्चे निवासी श्रीमती आशमाया राईलाई सभाले श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गरेको थियो।

From Prem Singh Tamang's page He Writes , Today marks a historic milestone for Sikkim and the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Party, as we commemorate receiving the mandate and assuming office under the SKM government on this day, i.e. the 27th May 2019.

This day heralded a new era in Sikkim’s history. On behalf of my cabinet colleagues, the legislature, the party, and myself, I extend my deepest gratitude to the people of Sikkim who played a crucial role in making this possible.

During our tenure, we have strived to address the grievances of the people, meeting every need and necessity. Our efforts encompassed advancements in healthcare, education, tourism, infrastructure, skill development, employment, and entrepreneurship. Reflecting on our people-centric initiatives such as Aama Yojana, Aama Sahayog Yojana, Bahini Yojana, SGAY, SUGAY housing, and numerous other schemes benefiting common people, students, and senior citizens which fills me with pride.

Additionally, we resolved the prolonged issue of adhoc employment of teachers, ASHA Workers, ICDS employees, and the temporary employees of many other departments by creating a new regularization policy, achieving what many considered impossible.

Every effort was focused on the welfare of the people, and we remained steadfast in our commitment to support the vulnerable and needy as a priority. Several philanthropic initiatives proposed by the government were meticulously implemented by the concerned departments, under the guidance of the Chief Secretary, followed by the Heads of Departments, and taken to the fields by dedicated officials, whose efforts are indeed praiseworthy.

During our five-year tenure, we faced significant challenges, including the global Covid-19 pandemic in 2020-21 and the devastating surge of the River Teesta on 3-4 October 2023. In these difficult times, the people’s gentleness and consistent support were crucial in restoring normalcy. The Central Government remained positive and supportive, providing every necessary assistance during our hardships.

On this auspicious and historic day, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the Central Government under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble PM, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, as well as the Hon’ble Governors of Sikkim, for their unwavering support during our times of need and adversity besides suggestions and supervision eternally.
I also extend my appreciation to the Chief Secretary, DGP, Special DGP, Addl. Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Commissioner cm Secretaries, Officials and employees across the state.

Lastly, I thank the Party functionaries for their relentless dedication and support in every situation we faced. I also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the youth, who stood by us as a backbone and spearheaded every challenging situation faced by the SKM government. My heartiest gratitude to all the well-wishers who remained always concerned for our stability and wellbeing.

Time passes with its own beat and rhythm, but we must always strive to do good so that future generations can learn from the positive deeds we have imprinted for them.
