Nigeriaโs carbon market was our focus at our just concluded 92nd power dialogue, and here are some key takeaways;
1. Carbon markets are open to the public and private sectors, businesses, and individuals. Nigeriaโs carbon market is still in the nascent stages. However, the focus should be on high integrity, a standard regulatory framework and adequate awareness of how carbon markets work.
2. โ Nigeria needs a carbon credit national aggregator to help measure carbon emissions.
3. โ Venturing into carbon markets requires a lot of education and research on the part of the individual or business/organization.
