Becoming a leader is a lot like investing successfully in the stock market. If your hope is to make a fortune in a day, you’re not going to be successful. What matters most is what you do day by day over the long haul. If you continually invest in your leadership development, letting your “assets” compound, the inevitable result is growth over time.

• Phase 1: I Don’t Know What I Don’t Know. As long as a person doesn’t know what he doesn’t know, he isn’t going to grow.

• Phase 2: I Know That I Need to Know. Many people find themselves placed in a leadership position only to look around and discover that no one is following them. When that happens, we realize that we need to learn how to lead.

• Phase 3: I Know What I Don’t Know. To grow as a leader, I have to realize I don’t have all the answers or the skills as a leader. I need others on my journey of growth.

• Phase 4: I Know and Grow, and It Starts to Show. When you recognize your lack of skill and begin the daily discipline of personal growth, exciting things start to happen.

• Phase 5: I Simply Go Because of What I Know. Your ability to lead becomes almost automatic. You develop great instincts. And that’s when the payoff is incredible.

AVOID BROKEN HOME AT ALL COST.

Consequences of pride in a marriage could be irreversible.

If someone tells you that he/she has a perfect marriage, just know right away that he/she is a great liar.

Couples fight and fight badly for that matter, but it's the ability to revise ones stand, communicate with respect, and be honest with each other, that determines the survival of any marital relationship.

If you remove pride and arrogance in your marital relationship, the marriage is already 90% promising, stable, peaceful and can thus, stand the test of time.

Invest in your marriage through giving, talking and compromising here and there. Your business as a stakeholder should be what to do to make your home peaceful and stable for you, your spouse, and your children's enjoyment.

Stop running to 3rd parties who equally have their own challenges they are probably hiding and managing. You may end up getting nothing positive or helpful from such friends, family members, church/mosque members, and colleagues to whom you are exposing or trading what should be the secrets of your home.

Broken home is like a war. No party goes uninjured. Each party goes with an injury they nurse for the rest of their lives. That is the reality. Whichever party claims unaffected/uninjured is a chronic liar, chronic pretender, and an unrepentant soul, l mean he/she is stone hearted.

Such a person has no idea of what a good home should be. He/she is ignorant of the positive impact of unbroken relationship on the home itself, the community, the church/mosque congregation, and the society at large. No amount of success in life could compensate for failure at home.

Ensure that your home is not scattered. Repair it now before it is too late. If your home is experiencing separation now, ensure that you shed your pride and compromise to arrest it from drifting to a broken home.

Stop narrating your home affairs around to seek sympathy. Most people you have taken your story to, and are supporting you, are in their own homes, keeping their homes intact, sympathising with you, while you are already out of your own home. To be sincere with you, what you will be treated to outside your home will not be what you bargained for. Think now and go back. May God help and bless you.

In marriages, we are all managing each other and there is no perfect marriage and till death, couples must continue to manage each other. If your marriage will last, manage your spouse, there is no perfect marriage out there.

Michael Imoudu is not a popular name in our history books but he was a man looked out for men and women through the decades.

Michael Imoudu was born Michael Aikhamen Omnibus Imoudu, September 17, 1902 in Edo State.

He started his career as a lineman in the department of posts and telecommunications, before moving on to the Nigeria Railway Corporation.

It was here that he developed an interest in trade unionism and politics.

He organised and became the first president of the Nigeria Union of Railwaymen in 1940.

He first came into the limelight when he led over 3,000 railway workers to Government House to put workers' grievances to the colonial governor.
He organised and became the first president of the Nigeria Union of Railwaymen in 1940, and his tenure in office was marked by unprecedented militancy.

He first came into the limelight when he led over 3,000 railway workers to Government House to put workers' grievances to the colonial governor.

Following the great depression of 1931 in the metropolitan countries and in the colonies, he organised and registered the Railway Workers' Union. The mission was to stop the movement of production capital used to establish commerce and assemble exploration and extraction of resource machinery.

He was committed to this first love that he reportedly gave out half of his salary to sponsor trade union activities. Having spent so much on unionism, he was reportedly unable to build a house of his own after 50 years of labour.

In 1945 Imoudu was one of the leaders of a general strike that was ostensibly over a cost of living allowance for workers, but was also about the continued existence of British colonial rule in Nigeria.

The strike was rock solid and lasted 44 days. It is said that this unprecedented strike demystified colonial rule and set the tone for Nigeria's independence.

Even though Imoudu resigned from active trade unionism in the early 1960s, he was still very active in workers' struggles against the African elite that had assumed the position of the departing colonialists.

In 1962, aware that workers needed an independent voice, Imoudu and other like-minded patriots such as Eskor Toyo founded a short-lived Labour Party.

In the second civilian republic (1979-83), he joined Aminu Kano's People's Redemption Party (PRP), a populist party based on the struggling masses of the northern part of Nigeria.

In the 1980s, during the uprisings against the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) in Nigeria, he was part of a conference called by the progressive forces at the Labour Congress headquarters in Lagos to determine an alternative to SAP.

Pa Michael Imoudu and his 500,000 Trade Union Congress comrades defeated the indomitable colonial government in a general strike that lasted for 44 days. Imoudu had no telephones or internet, yet he congregated 500,000 men.

He died in 2005 at the age of 102.

We didn't celebrate it. Many of us did not know who he was.

We must look to our past and celebrate those who came before us and paved the way

IGODOMIGODO: Igodomigodo is an expanded conglomeration of diverse undulating landscape when viewed from surrounding hills (aerial view of the ancient settlement). Igodo = godo-mi- godo, the first Ogiso was Igodo in a land of conglomerate undulating landscape. So Igodo - as King met (mi ) an undulating land = godo-godo: both in land and people in the ancient nucleus hilly settlements in low-lying landscape.
The Land is comprised various undulating (godo-godo= otọ na ye godogodo= not a flat surface land) settlements overlapping/meeting one another under the first Ogiso Igodo. It is like someone born in the village of Shagari named Shagari. So Ogiso Igodo was born to meet godo-godo (undulating) landscape.
By Ogiso Igodo the name of the godo-godo landscape became established over the land of same Idu people. From Idu (dwelling) we have dwelling street (idunmwun/idunmwu). Idu originated from this ancient land originally named Alaka (Otọ ogbe, otọ Alaka na na biẹ Idu). PRESIDENT BUHARI CONGRATULATES GOV. ELECT CHARLES SOLUDO; URGES SUPPORT TO CONFRONT CHALLENGES AHEAD

President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as he emerges winner in the gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

The President praises the security agencies for their determination to ensure that the election went on as smoothly as possible, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conclusion of the exercise despite the initial challenges encountered.

President Buhari enjoins Prof. Soludo, member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee, to rally other stakeholders to tackle the enormous challenges confronting the State and the Southeast in general.

Why is men's mental health important?

Untreated mental health conditions can lead to high-risk behaviors including substance abuse, gambling and other forms of addiction.

- The rate of su***de is highest in middle-aged white men.

- In 2019, men died by su***de 3.63x as often as women.

- White males accounted for 69.38% of su***de deaths in 2019.

Men value independence and decisiveness, and they regard acknowledging a need for help as weakness and avoid it.

Women value interdependence, and they consult friends and readily accept help.

It is argued that women derive strength and protection from su***de by virtue of specific differences from men.

Factors that protect women from su***de are opposite to vulnerability factors in men.

Trust is the single most important factor in personal and professional relationships. It is the glue that holds people together. And it is the key to becoming a person of influence.

At one time you could assume that others would trust you until you gave them a reason not to. But today with most people, you must prove your trustworthiness first. That’s what makes integrity so important if you want to become a person of influence. Trust comes from others only when you exemplify solid character.

It has been said that you don’t really know people until you have observed them when they interact with a child, when the car has a flat tire, when the boss is away, and when they think no one will ever know. But people with integrity never have to worry about that. No matter where they are, who they are with, or what kind of situation they find themselves in, they are consistent and live by their principles.

Aguiyi-Ironsi’s late wife, Victoria buried in Umuahia

The body of Victoria, the late wife of the first Nigerian military Head of State, Major General Johnson Thompson Umunnakwe Aguiyi Ironsi, was yesterday buried at her country home, Umuana Ndume Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking at the funeral service held at Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church, Afaraukwu Umuahia, during the weekend, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, described the late Victoria Aguiyi Ironsi as a great woman who exhibited nobility, hard work, and comportment during her lifetime.

The Governor said that the deceased believed and worked for the peace, progress, and unity of Abia State and Nigeria.

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of plotting to rig the Saturday’s governorship election.

Speaking through Don Adinuba, the state Commissioner for information and Public Enlightenment, Obiano accused the APC of writing results for 10 local government areas, ahead of the poll.

Listing the local government areas, he said the APC was plotting to compromise officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner, he said APC plan to take advantage of President Muhammadu Buhari’s delay assenting the new Electoral Bill which makes electronic voting mandatory to perpetrate the fraud.

He said: “The Anambra State Government has credible intelligence showing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has already written results of 10 Local Government Areas as regards the gubernatorial election which will take place tomorrow, November 6, 2021. The results are those of Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Aguata, Orumba South, Orumba North, Idemili North, Idemili South, Ogbaru, Anambra East and Anambra West. These are LGAs with high numbers of registered voters.

“APC operatives are relying on compromised Independent National Electronic Commission (INEC) officials, who smuggled out the result sheets of a number of polling units two nights ago and the result sheets of some LGAs last night, to accept and announce the results, regardless of authentic results submitted by INEC officials electronically.

“They plan to capitalize on the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has yet to assent to the new Electoral Bill which makes electronic voting mandatory to perpetrate the fraud.”

The Commissioner alleged that a former Senate President, former Deputy Governor, and a current state Governor from the Southeast are behind the plot.

“A former Senate President from the Southeast, a former State Deputy Governor who later became a Senator from the Southwest and a sitting State Governor from the Southeast are deeply involved in the fraud to toy with the destiny of the Anambra people.

“This public announcement is to alert the Anambra people, the INEC national leadership, the security agencies, the mass media, election observers, civil society organizations and the international community of this grand plot. The barefaced brigandage just cannot stand,” he added.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba, has stated that he was confident of winning today’s election.

He spoke to journalists after voting at the Okwute Primary School, Uga on Saturday.

He stated that with the number of defections of major political bigwigs to APC, it would be almost impossible for him to lose the election.

Uba said: “What do you expect in a situation where people with many followers in their various wards are leaving their parties for APC?

Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of plotting to rig the Saturday’s governorship election.

Speaking through Don Adinuba, the state Commissioner for information and Public Enlightenment, Obiano accused the APC of writing results for 10 local government areas, ahead of the poll.

Listing the local government areas, he said the APC was plotting to compromise officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner, he said APC plan to take advantage of President Muhammadu Buhari’s delay assenting the new Electoral Bill which makes electronic voting mandatory to perpetrate the fraud.

He said: “The Anambra State Government has credible intelligence showing that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has already written results of 10 Local Government Areas as regards the gubernatorial election which will take place tomorrow, November 6, 2021. The results are those of Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Aguata, Orumba South, Orumba North, Idemili North, Idemili South, Ogbaru, Anambra East and Anambra West. These are LGAs with high numbers of registered voters.

“APC operatives are relying on compromised Independent National Electronic Commission (INEC) officials, who smuggled out the result sheets of a number of polling units two nights ago and the result sheets of some LGAs last night, to accept and announce the results, regardless of authentic results submitted by INEC officials electronically.

“They plan to capitalize on the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has yet to assent to the new Electoral Bill which makes electronic voting mandatory to perpetrate the fraud.”

The Commissioner alleged that a former Senate President, former Deputy Governor, and a current state Governor from the Southeast are behind the plot.

“A former Senate President from the Southeast, a former State Deputy Governor who later became a Senator from the Southwest and a sitting State Governor from the Southeast are deeply involved in the fraud to toy with the destiny of the Anambra people.

“This public announcement is to alert the Anambra people, the INEC national leadership, the security agencies, the mass media, election observers, civil society organizations and the international community of this grand plot. The barefaced brigandage just cannot stand,” he added.
