Hardcore criminal booked under PSA

Police authorities in Rajouri booked a hardcore criminal under Public Safety Act (PSA) after order was issued by the competent authority.

In an official statement, police informed that hardcore criminal namely Imran Ali son of Sahadat Ali resident of Ward No 10, Naban mohala Rajouri has been detained under Public Safety Act.

The hardcore criminal is involved in a number of criminal cases that include attempt to murder, assault on public servants and many other unlawful acts.

Police said that he was also a declared absconder by the Hon'ble court with many FIRs are registered against him that include
FIR No 516/23 U/Ss 307/353/332/147/336/504/506 IPC 4/25 Arms Act (Under Investigation), 480/16 U/Ss 279/337 RPC (Challaned on 22/11/23), 684/19 U/Ss 353/224 IPC (Challaned U/S 512 CrPC), 536/19 U/Ss 307/452/336/323/147/148/149 RPC (Under Investigation) and 513/23 U/Ss 354-D/506 IPC (Under Investigation).

A dossier for his detention was prepared and submitted before the competent authority by police after which he has been detained following order issued by Magistrate.

Lt Governor visits the home of Martyr Hav Abdul Majid in Poonch





Poonch, December 02: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha visited the family members of the martyr Havaldar Abdul Majid in Ajote, Poonch, today.



He offered his condolences to the bereaved family and assured all assistance and support to the family from the government.



Paying homage to Hav Abdul Majid, the Lt Governor said the entire nation is proud of his valour and courage.





The Lt Governor tweeted:



“Visited the home of Hav Abdul Majid in Poonch, who was martyred during an anti-terror operation in Rajouri and offered my condolences to the bereaved family. His family has a long history of service & sacrifices for motherland. Entire nation is proud of his valour & courage.



I commend our Army, J&K Police & CAPFs for well-planned counter-terrorism operations to wipe out terror ecosystem. We will intensify our operations against terror ecosystem & those aiding and abetting terrorists & make sure they pay a very heavy price for their heinous actions.”

Community Mobilization Event Showcases Strong Commitment to Quality Education in Zone Surankote
Over the span of ten days, from 15-11-2023 to 25-11-2023, a series of community mobilization events were successfully conducted in Zone Surankote under the guidance of ZEO Skt smt. shamim Fatima Bukhari and and ZEPO Skt Smt Noushad Akhter. This initiative, spanning across various schools from PS Chappran Marhote to MS Samote, aimed to bolster community engagement in education. The events were designed to raise awareness about SAMAGRA SHIKSHA, NIPUN Bharat, NEP 2020, and provide training for School Management Committees (SMCs).

Guided by the visionary leadership of CEO Poonch, Sh. Bashambar Das, and District Education Planning Officer Poonch, Sh. Narinder Mohan Suri, the program witnessed active participation from diverse stakeholders, including SMC members, community representatives, PRIs, and students.

The events, meticulously organized by the dedicated team of Zonal Education Officer Surankote, led by Mr. Mukhtar Hussain Shah, featured insightful discussions facilitated by DRG members Sh. Darshan Bharti and Sh. Harish Sharma RPs Safder Hussain Shah, Noor Ahmed Abdul Qadeer and Ajaz Ahmed. These discussions explored the pivotal role of SMC committees and underscored the importance of ensuring quality education in alignment with the guidelines of SAMAGRA SHIKSHA and NEP 2020.

Active engagement was observed from participants representing Clusters Mohra Bachhai and Lathoong, including PRIs, parents, and Heads of Institutions (HOIs). The community's commitment to educational development was further reinforced through valuable perspectives shared by social activists and SMC members.

Expressing gratitude for the wholehearted participation, ZEO Surankote, Mrs. Shamim Fatima Bukhari, and her team commended the collective efforts towards creating a conducive educational environment. National Conference on CS&FPS, 2023 Concludes at JU's Poonch Campus

The Two Days National Conference on "Current Scenario & Future Prospects of Sericulture (CS&FPS)-2023" reached its successful conclusion at JU's Poonch Campus. The event, dedicated to exploring the evolving landscape of sericulture, featured distinguished guests and insightful discussions.

The Esteemed Chief Guest, Er. Mr Mohd Ashfaq Vice Chairman of District Development Council Poonch, delivered a thought-provoking address, setting the tone for the conference's closing proceedings.

Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Director and Convener of the Conference, shared valuable perspectives on the occasion, emphasizing the significance of advancements in sericulture. “The conference, hosted by Poonch Campus, served as a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, insights, and innovations within the realm of sericulture,” he said adding further that participants, including researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and enthusiasts, actively engaged in discussions that are expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of sericulture practices.

Two Days National Conference on Sericulture commenced at JU's Poonch Campus

Poonch November 23 : The Two Days National Conference on the "Current Scenario & Future Prospects of Sericulture (CS&FPS)-2023" commenced with great enthusiasm at the Poonch Campus University of Jammu here today. The inaugural session brought together eminent personalities, scholars, and delegates to deliberate on the future trajectory of the sericulture industry. Mr. Sandesh Sharma Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In a moment of significance during the inaugural session of the two days “National Conference”, a Sovereign Cumulative Compendium was unveiled by distinguished dignitaries.

Vice Chancellor University of Jammu, Prof. Umesh Rai, extended his best wishes for the success of the conference through a special message, highlighting the Jammu University's commitment to fostering academic excellence and research initiatives.

Mr. Sandesh Sharma Additional District Development Commissioner Poonch in his address underscored the pivotal role of sericulture in the region's economic and social development. His insights provided a local perspective, emphasizing the practical implications of sericulture on the community.
