Posted • What a joy to announce .fuego as our next poet for Saturday’s book launch!

Tanaka has been a force to be reckoned with from when they first hit the London scene & they are always a fire of warmth & positive energy to be around 🔥

🗓️Saturday 18th November
Doors 5.30. Event 6-9pm
📍 ✨

We first met back in 2018 when I was hosting SPEAK= with and Tanaka was a dedicated and brilliant open mic’er on that stage.
Since then bumping into them is always a pleasure, including at Transpride where this last pic was taken featuring the equally wonderful looking fab in a flower crown! 🌼

Tanaka’s work is current, evocative & full of vulnerable power. I can’t wait to see what they share with us at the launch!

Andie’s work is versatile & thought-provoking, always making me think outside the box and inspiring me to explore new forms while also being beautiful and often funny!

They are also one of the sweetest poets on the scene right now & bring such a wholesome, gentle energy to every space.
I can’t wait to see what they bring to the show!

Coincidentally, this picture of us from birthday also features the wonderful who will be in charge of cameras on the night bringing us gorgeous photography!

Posted • Thrilled to announce my friend & incredible poet Mandisa will be performing on Saturday at my book launch 💛👂🏼📙

Story time:
mandisa and I have each done Barbican Young Poets the same 3 years running. We first met in 2017 when I was new to london & they captured mine (and everyone else’s) heart by being the friendliest person in the group. Always up for a hug, always ready to laugh, always burping loudly at the back of the room 😂 & offering funny but sage feedback on poems.

Mandisa’s poetry gives me such a feeling of peace & of wisdom beyond their years. Their work on the notion of home, on the way nature & trees influence our well-being, on loving their siblings all resonates with me & ties in with the work in this collection 🌴
So who better to have support me at my first ever book launch?! I can’t wait to hear what they bring to the stage!

See you on Saturday !
