Horticultural Science is an international, peer‑reviewed open access journal published by the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences and financed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.

📘 Scope: The journal covers all areas of horticulture, including fruit growing, viticulture, vegetable growing, floriculture, ornamental gardening, mushroom and medicinal plant cultivation, and garden and landscape architecture.

🌿 Promotion of ČAZV Journals at the Conference “Current Knowledge in Cultivation, Breeding, Plant Protection, and Product Processing” 📢

On November 27–28, 2025, the journals of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) are being promoted at the international conference “Current Knowledge in Plant Cultivation, Breeding, Protection, and Product Processing” organized by the Research Institute of Forage Crops s.r.o. Troubsko at the Avanti Hotel Avanti Brno.

The aim of the conference is to present the latest results of applied research in cultivation, breeding, plant protection, and the processing of selected products, with regard to current ecological and economic requirements. 🌱💡🌍

Meeting of the Editorial Board of Horticultural Science

On November 26, 2025, a meeting of the Editorial Board of Horticultural Science was held in the form of an online video conference chaired by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal and chairman of the Editorial Board, Prof. Dr. Ing. Boris Krška. The members of the Editorial Board were informed about the current status of the journal – the number of articles in the review process, articles being prepared for upcoming issues, and the journal's citation metrics. The meeting also discussed the promotion of the journal at local and international industry events and on social networks (Facebook, X, and LinkedIn).
In conclusion, the Editor-in-Chief thanked the members of the editorial board for their work on the journal.

Presentation of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences journals at the MendelNet 2025 student conference

On November 5, the 32nd annual conference of Ph.D. students – MendelNet – will take place at the Faculty of Agronomy of Mendel University in Brno. This is an interdisciplinary student conference that offers a unique opportunity for students and their mentors from fields related primarily to agricultural activities to meet. The primary objective of the conference is to present specific research topics actively, share knowledge, and exchange experiences among participants across disciplines.

The conference is competitive in nature – individual contributions are evaluated by expert juries based on their professional level and contribution to the relevant field.

The journals of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences are presented at this event in the form of promotional materials. We would like to thank Assoc Prof Ing. Tomáš Vyhnánek, Ph.D., editor of the Czech Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding, for his assistance.

Prof. Vácha představil divákům a posluchačům vydavatelskou činnost ČAZV, jednotlivé vydávané časopisy, jejich historii i cíle do budoucna. Dále zhodnotil vývoj časopisů v posledních letech a informoval o jejich zařazení v databázích Web of Science a Scopus.

CAAS journals presented at the conference "The influence of abiotic and biotic stressors on plant properties"

On September 17, 2025, scientific journals published by the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) were presented at the international conference "The Influence of Abiotic and Biotic Stressors on Plant Properties 2025". The conference is organized by the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague in cooperation with the Institute of Forest Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Zvolen. This year's edition of this traditional conference takes place from September 17 to 18, 2025, at the library of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague. The main focus of this year's edition is "Plant responses to current biotic and abiotic stress and the possibility of their elimination."

The main focus was on journals focused on plant production: Czech Journal of Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant, Soil and Environment, Horticultural Science, Plant Protection Science, and Journal of Forest Science.

The Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences would like to thank František Hnilička, Ph.D., member of the editorial board of Horticultural Science, for presenting the journals to the participants of this international conference and for promoting the journals in the conference proceedings.
