Well, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Keith Linard, a parishioner of the Blackfriars RC Parish in Watson, Canberra first started collecting nativity sets in 1984. His collection now includes sets representing 50 countries. This year was the fifth time Keith has hosted the display jointly with the Holy Cross Anglican Church and St Margaret's Uniting Church in Canberra's north.

Ten years ago Mark Ha came from Vietnam to Canberra to study accounting only to discover the numbers weren’t calling him to a career in finance.
God was calling instead.
In the latest step in that personal journey the Vietnamese-born seminarian was ordained as a transitional deacon at St Christopher’s Cathedral last Friday evening.
After struggling all year, Anna is now at breaking point.
“Things are only getting worse with each passing day,” she said.
“At this rate, I won’t be able to afford a simple Christmas meal for my children. They’ll be disappointed”.
Anna is one of many Australian families on a low-income, doing her best to care for her two children in the face of sky-rocketing prices.
Vinnies Canberra/Goulburn CEO Lucy Hohnen said there had been a significant increase in families like Anna’s approaching them for help.

In September 1983, at the Sunday evening Mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral, parishioners were invited to come forward for prayer after the homily.
“Rather timidly, I suggested that maybe someone or other might like to come forward for prayer, thinking probably no one would respond,” Fr Ken Barker said.
“To my everlasting surprise, three quarters of the congregation catapulted out to the front.”
This Sunday marks 40 years since the Charismatic Mass began in Canberra.
