Who We Are
We are Imagnary House, a publisher and bookstore of beautiful children’s books and young-adult literature in South Africa.
We focus on publishing books that your imagination can devour and enjoy for a long time to come. Books that may be rooted in South Africa sometimes, but can travel the world and be enjoyed by children and adults from an nation or culture.
Currently, we produce print books, eBooks, and audiobooks, but with our ever-evolving team of minds, we plan to move into TV animations, boardgames, and more in the future. Keep an eye on us to see how we develop your favourite stories across different mediums.
To date, we’ve published: - ‘Lucy and Mum’s Shoes’ by Emily Child & Warwick Kay - ‘Tina Tadople: Witch in Training’ by David Bourke - ‘Liebetland: A Colouring Book’ by Liebet Jooste - ‘seven’ by B. D. Harris - ‘The Complete Guide to Being a Monster’ by Astika Chetram and Danica Ricciardi - ‘Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland’ by Lewis Carroll and Megan Bird - ‘The Straw Giant & The Crow’ by Jess Bosworth Smith - ‘What on Earth am I?’ by Lara Lara Salomon and Megan Bird - ‘The Brave Turtle’ by B. D. Harris and Megan Bird - ‘The Chalk Giraffe’ by Kirsty Paxton and Megan Lötter - ‘The New Girl Code’ by Niki Smit, Buhle Ngaba and Josselin Bijl - ‘A Viking Legend: The Violaceous Amethyst’ by Aoife Lennon-Ritchie (2019) - ‘The After-Life Chronicles: One Small Spark’ by Andy Woodage (2019) - ‘Liefie’ by Jessica Bosworth Smith (2019) - And there are many more to come!
