The project should:
• Have a total cost under $10,000, of which up to $4,000 can be paid for by a SBTAE grant
• Have a projected duration of no more than 6 months - All projects should be completed by May 30, 2024
• Project requirements are flexible, with decisions made by the RDC SBTAE Committee

Today’s project: creating a new website for my mother. I built her first website on SquareSpace in 2012 and made one upgrade in 2016 in version 7.0. With the new Fluid Design platform on version 7.1, it will be good to make some new tweaks to the design and layout. Stay tune for final results.

Today, I delivered a presentation on Personal Branding and building a portfolio online and offline to Burlington Technical Center students in the Digital Media and Design & Illustration Programs.

This is a dense presentation in 1-hour and could be 4 separate presentations. I would love to show this presentation to parents with high school and college age students cause quite frankly our kids may be on social media but they don’t necessarily know how to manage their online and offline reputations.

Our second workshop for our Design Build Manage Your Business Website series was so informative with presenting and sharing her insights on the importance of brand photography, working with a photographer, the value of hiring a professional photographer, developing a shot list, and some wardrobe advice.

Your visual content matters and if you can set aside the budget, it is a worthwhile investment to hire a pro. You’ll get the most out of your photo shoots if you come prepared with a vision and firm understanding of your brand.

I was excited to hear from Nicole Grenier, owner of Stowe Street Cafe | VT], as she needed a new site after shutting down her first SquareSpace site 2 years ago and moving to a Square site for food ordering. In a short turnaround, I helped start a new site in SquareSpace under version 7.1 and onboarded Nicole to the new features.

Looking forward to seeing her finish and publish the new site.
