Earth's Rotations Day 2024: The way the earth rotates around its own axis causes day and night, and also the change in seasons. It is responsible for our day and night, and our sleep-wake cycle. Multiple theories have been published by scientists over the years who researched on how the earth rotates around itself. There is a hypothetical line that passes almost vertically through the earth determines the axis around which the earth rotates. The axis connects the north and the south pole. However, the rotation does not determine the length of the day or the night.
Historical Significance of Earth’s Rotation Day
The concept of Earth’s rotation dates back to ancient Greece in 470 BC. However, it wasn’t until 1851 that French physicist Léon Foucault provided concrete proof with his famous pendulum experiment. This experiment, showcased at the Pantheon in Greece and the Paris Observatory, became a cornerstone in demonstrating Earth’s rotation, a fact that had long been theorized but never conclusively proven.

Rector of Salymbekov University, Kyrgyzstan Dr Zhumadilov Esengeldi Zhumadilovich paid a significant visit to Foundation University Islamabad today where he was welcome by the Prorector/Director Prof Dr Abdul Ghafoor steered by Dr Hina Shahid, Head Department of Arts and Media supported by the International Office FUI. The visit marks the initiation of discussions on potential collaborative ventures between the esteemed universities, aiming to create new avenues for academic exchange and mutual growth.

During his comprehensive visit of FUSST, Dr Zhumadilov Esengeldi who is also the Executive Director of the Askar Salymbekov Foundation, one of the leading organizations in Kyrgyzstan, engaged with the faculty and students. He appreciated the faculty and the students of Department of Arts and Media as he gained valuable insights into the academic infrastructure of the university. This interaction not only showcased the vibrant academic atmosphere at Foundation University Islamabad but also laid the foundation for potential collaborative projects in the fields of Arts and Media.

The tour continued with visits to the Arts Studio, Media House, and Radio FM 101.8 where Dr Hina Shahid requested the guest to record his message for FUI students on FM 101.8. Rector, Dr Esengeldi took the opportunity to commend the students for their outstanding work and expressed appreciation for the collective efforts of the entire department. In a note of thanks, Rector appreciated the efforts of Dr Hina Shahid, HoD Arts and Media Department for facilitating his visit to Foundation University Islamabad that signifies a commitment to academic excellence and cross-cultural cooperation. Officials from both the institutes expressed the enthusiasm to look forward to furthering this international collaboration.

41st death anniversary of creator of Pakistan's national anthem, Abul Athar Hafeez Jalandhri is being observed today.

He was born in Jalandhar, Indian Punjab on 14th January 1900. his family migrated from Jalandhar to Lahore after partition.

He was a great poet of song as well as poem and ghazal. His extreme achievement is “Shahnama Islam” which he wrote in poetic form and published in four volumes. Due to this commendable achievement, he was given the title of 'Firdowsi Islam'. The second major achievement of Hafeez Jalandhri is the National Anthem of Pakistan and he will always be remembered for this unique creation.

Hafeez Jalandhri's poetry collections include 'Naghma Bar', 'Talkhaba Shireen' and 'Soz-o-Saz'. He also compiled a collection of short stories 'Haft Paikar'. His songs collections were published as 'Hindustan Hamara', 'Phool Mali' and 'Bachun ki Nazmeen'.

Hafeez Jalandhri died on this day in 1982 in Lahore and buried near Minar-e-Pakistan
