Green Tourism core objectives to establish the complete ecosystem of tourism which entails promotion and growth of tourism in scenic destinations of Gilgit Baltistan. In addition, the international standard of hotels and accommodation facilities are being established with the highest standards of services to facilitate the local and international tourism alike.

This initiative will act as catalyst to generate ample employment opportunities for locals and will generate major economic activity which will directly support the local communities and areas of Gilgit Baltistan.

Green Tourism Private Limited (GTPL) is functioning like any private company in Gilgit Baltistan and responsible to ensure the environment sustainability, community support and enhancing capacities of local people.

The following are the responses of the generally asked questions:

1. Absolutely all the applicable laws will apply to Green Tourism Private Limited. Company has been registered as a Private Limited Company with the Securities and Exchange of Pakistan and is subject to comply with all the applicable laws
2. Like any private company Green Tourism Private Limited will pay each and every charge for the usage of utilities and infrastructure of Government.
3. The Green tourism private limited mandate is to preserve nature. No trees will be cut and, all the stones and minerals, of commercial value will not be utilized.
4. With the positive approach Green Tourism Private Limited, we will not any give any chance for the difference in opinion. Incase any dispute arises it will be settled amicably and promptly with the joint management board, constituted between the GTPL and the GB government.
5. No exemptions, subsidies and concession have been solicited by Green Tourism Private Limited and GTPL will be bound to pay each and every charge like any other private company.
6. All the steps according to the agreement will be governed by applicable laws of Pakistan and Gilgit Baltistan.
7. Joint management board between the government and Green Tourism Private Limited will resolve all issues. The arbitration can take place in Jutial – Gilgit and Rawalpindi.
8. As mentioned above, according to the agreement between GTPL `and GB Govt., all the decisions will be taken and all issues / matters will be resolved by the Joint Management board which consist of members from GB Govt. and GTPL.
The GTPL has achieved the agreement where the major beneficiary is GB government and from the first year Rental upon utilization of sites will start. Despite the major investment in renovation and upgradation of these properties, the profit generation may take 6 to 7 years but the GTPL will start sharing of profit and reinvestment in development tourism infrastructure from 3rd year onward.

In brief, Gilgit Baltistan will benefit by becoming more popular tourist destination with improvement in the inflow of tourist which will increase economic activity and will also achieve major share of profits from these properties which were closed and unutilized.
