It’s a great feeling for us that we will receive our Christmas gift from one of our major stakeholders, JG Summit Petrochemicals Group. Our teachers told us that JG Summit Petrochemicals Group will give us food from Jollibee. It is an annual activity of our stakeholders to put on a Christmas Party for the school children. But due to the pandemic for two years now, our parents are the ones who will receive and experience once again our Bida ang Saya moment.
Though affected also by the pandemic, the JG Summit continues to share the blessings that the company received to the nearby schools. This year, through the Abot Kamay Foundation, we received schools supplies like notebooks, pens, crayons, pencils, and other schools supplies. Mega boxes, trays, printer inks, and laminating machines were also provided by the foundation. This only proves that their goal is not just to earn as a company but to share a portion of what they have with the children in school. They give us hope and a chance to a pupil like me to strive hard in my studies that someday I’ll be able to be part of the JG Summit Petrochemicals Group in the future.
From all of us here in Pinamukan Elementary School, Merry Christmas and God bless. Hats off to you JG Summit Petrochemical Group of Companies.

Stakeholders donate school supplies
By Al Mariah Dhen Kelly B. Tuquib

To fulfill their program and support to Pinamukan Elementary School, JG Summit Petrochemicals Group donated school supplies on November 18,2021.
JG Summit Petrochemicals Group is one of the biggest industries in the Philippines which is located at Barangay Simlong, Batangas City. It is the leading and preferred supplier of innovative world-class petrochemical products. Aside from providing work and income to the people and the community, it has been active in doing many outreach programs for two decades now. This program aims to help nearby public schools by giving school supplies in support of our Brigada Eskwela and Balik Eskwela program of the DepEd.
Through its Abot Kamay Program, school supplies were given to the pupils of Pinamukan Elementary School, Pinamukan Ibaba Elementary School, Simlong Elementary School, and Mabacong Elementary School. A number of schools and thousands of school children benefited from the company’s outreach program. They believed that helping in educating young minds is one way of expressing their concern and gratitude as a corporate citizen especially in the nearby community.

New Way of Learning
By: Jewell Elizabeth A. Garcia

”Learning is very important for our better future.”
Our parents chose Modular Learning Modality for our safety so that we can continue learning our lessons even if we are at home. Every Monday, teachers distributed Weekly Home Learning Plan
( WHLP) that serve as guide for the weekly lessons and tasks tobe accomplished. They also distributed the printed modules and explained to our parents what we are going to do. Our teachers did these for our sake- to make us learn. It is good that we can continue our schooling. We also learned with help of our parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, aunties and even our lolo and lola. Most of the schools in our Division chose the MDL modality. We are grateful that the higher officials in DepEd found ways in nourishing our mind amidst of the pandemic.
We are hoping that no one will be left behind. All of us will receive knowledge from our teachers. And through HIM , we will instill in our minds the new way of learning and that is through Modular Distance Learning modality.

Our Teacher, Our New Normal Heroes!
By Jassy Briana T. Balmes

When you hear the word “ hero “, what comes to your mind?
As Felix Adler said, “ The hero is the one who kindles a great light in the world, who sets up blazing torches in the dark streets of life for men to see by.”
For us, teachers today are our new normal heroes. Why? Because they give light to the world and create a better future for everyone, especially in these trying times. Each day, they make a difference to make our education more valuable. They face challenges when they visit us in our homes. When parents failed to get the learning materials of their children on time, teachers bring them to their pupil’s houses just to make sure that they will learn the lesson for the week. They give us hope encouragement and motivation to persevere and finish what we have started to make our dreams come true. They even share their time on our “ Online Kumustahan” to extend to every pupil that though they are not in school, they can be connected with each other and can see each other personally even online. “ Online Kumustahan” also gives the opportunity to teachers to clear some lessons which are not clear to pupils as well as their parents. In some schools, teachers deliver the modules to far-flung barangays. They even cross rivers, hike mountains, and face floods just to make sure that school children will receive the education just like when the pandemic is not everywhere.
So let’s love, respect, and support our new normal heroes- our teachers because, without them, there will be no doctors, engineers, nurses CPAs, and other professions.
