UNO-R Starlight

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 is the official school publication of the University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos High School Department. The school publication serves as an outlet for literary expression of the students and a source of information concerning news and issues pertaining to the school, the community and the society with relevance to the lives of the students.

Starlight envisions itself as a

school publication of dedicated, creative, intellectual and trustworthy student journalists informing within the principles of honesty, justice, consideration and relevance and guided by the Recollect values of love, passion for excellence and service for the students and community. Starlight shall report and interpret the news without any biases and in all circumstances, respect all confidentiality. Starlight commits itself to upholding the welfare of the Recollect family and the advancement of the Filipino nation through the progress and development of the society.

Starlight aims to respect the public’s right to information that is factual and fair and is in accordance with the Recollect values. Starlight extends itself for the students’ voices to be heard and minds to be known. Starlight commits to give its utmost knowledge pertaining to issues in the department despite unreliable sources within the community. Among others, Starlight makes an effort to send students with potentials in journalism to harness and develop their God-given gifts and to show competence in their chosen field.
