Tigers from the Association of Civil Engineering students (ACES) shared the enjoyment with the organizations from different college departments during the 5th Day of the Campus Organization Federation Week: PAHAMPANG, held at the University Lobby, February 7.

Igniting juvenile spirits and cheers, the event was ushered with Games such as Balloon Ballance Relay and Slipper Throw. And where thrill was around, tigers would always thrive with enthusiasm, cultivating camaraderie among the students of the university.

โ€œAs one of the facilitators for pahampang, one of the crucial points was coming up ideas to adjust the gamesโ€™ mechanics due to the number of participants. Even though we were stressing, we still managed to make pahampang a successful COF event. Biskan jutay nag intra, we made it work by inviting mga ga tambay around the lobby to join in sa games na gin prepare namon even if waay sila may gina represent nga org. All in all, we made sure itโ€™s all about enjoying the games nga gin prepare namon para sa students or participants whether org vs org or timing ga tambay ka lang sa lobby that time.โ€ Jan Ela Mei Reyes, the ACES president, stated.

Engr. Yanibee Noynay spearheaded the conference entitled, โ€œField Practices in Steel Connection Design and Detailing: Bridging Design and Realityโ€ with a perceptive discussion of the importance of steel structures in ensuring the strength and stability of built systems, providing a broader scope of the topic that will serve as precedents to the audience.

Desiree Anne Jarabelo, an attendee, also shared her insights. "Ang mas nagtatak gid sakon for today's topic is ang sa steel, specifically ang weld connections kay ang amon nga thesis is related man sa weld connections. So mas nagclear pa gid amon insights about weld connections especially sa mga minimum kag maximum size ya nga ga-vary man depende sa thickness ka plates. And ang length man ka weld is ga-depend man."

The bold and electrifying Doja Cat performance had the crowd in a frenzy, with each sway of her hips and flick of her tongue turning up the heat and making everyone sweat.

"As someone who has performed on countless competitive stages, I canโ€™t deny that, despite my experience, fear and pressure still lingerโ€”especially when expectations are high, given our reputation as a home of champions. Everyone anticipates us to win, and that can be overwhelming at times. Looking forward, I hope we can move beyond the overly competitive nature that sometimes overshadows the joy of performing. While competition is part of the journey, I dream of a time when we perform not just to win, but to inspire and captivateโ€”sharing our passion for the art and letting everything else fall into place.
Congratulations to all the performers who gave their hearts out, I hope we all have made our respective colleges proudโ€ โ€” Nathaniel Maceda, MTV representative.

Their spectacle took second runner-up, while the College of Arts and Sciences nabbed the championship title, followed by the College of Business and Accountancy as first runner-up.

The infectious energy from their songs had everyone buzzing, setting the perfect tone for the Battle of the Bands at the University Amphitheater earlier this evening, November 21.

Carl Kenneth Villanueva is a dynamic force where engineering meets artistry. Blending technical precision with creative flair, he captures stories through his lens as a photojournalist for this publication (PACES). Outside his academic realm, he shines in the city as a member of Doughbaby, a rising local indie band from Bacolod known for its eclectic music. Whether behind the camera or on stage, Carl brings passion and purpose to every endeavor, ensuring he leaves a mark in both fields.

"Juggling life as an engineering student and a musician can be draining, as it demands a constant balance of my time. Music, for me, is more than just a pastimeโ€”it's a true passion. There are moments when I find myself wondering if I should leave school to pursue music full-time, but then I realize that completing my education is the smarter path. Iโ€™m proud to be both an engineering student and a member of Doughbaby, and I hope that one day, all our efforts will lead to something bigger. Our dream is to become the first mainstream Bacolodnon band." โ€” Carl Kenneth Villanueva, Doughbaby bassist and photojournalist for PACES.
