New Police Stations. Bacolod City will have a changed landscape soon if the proposal of Bacolod City Police Office chief, Colonel Joeresty Coronica, will be implemented. This will involve the putting up of five territorial police units each covering only one barangay. These are Station 11 (Brgy. Time and Motion Baseline. The time to traverse from Gate 1 of the University of St. La Salle to make a left turn to BS Aquino Drive takes about a minute and a half past the peak hours in light traffic condition as shown in this video. This baseline data is part of an ongoing observation for a reporting project of DNX on traffic that is one of the major concerns in the lone highly-urbanized city in Negros Occidental province.

On DNX Publicus. Colonel Joeresty Coronica is 49, perhaps one of the youngest or the youngest director of the Bacolod City Police Office. He is, however, the first director of a highly-urbanized city with more than half a million people to come up with a roadmap for the BCPO, a master plan of sorts for the police office that he says is meant to intersect with the super city vision of Mayor Albee Benitez. THE GREEN ARMY BUILDS A COMMUNITY
The 79th Infantry Battalion, known by its moniker 'Masaligan' is not only into warfighting after dismantling the Northern Negros Front of the New People's Army but is also focusing on building communities like bringing together people - from reservists, to students to riders, Boy Scouts, teachers and nature lovers to youth groups -and members of the uniformed service like the police, the Bureau of Jail Management and even the Coast Guard. The 79th, headed by its commander, Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Calaoagan, led a, tree planting activity through its civil military officer, Lieutenant Dan Carlo Samoza, at the Gawahon Eco Park in Victorias City that gathered hundreds of participants, the biggest so far to reforest the Northern Negros Natural Park.
