Perfection.
One of the greatest of all time is retiring after a fantastic career as a pro surfer .
Carissa - I first saw your smiling face on a poster when I was working for ROXY . You were the poster girl for the teeny wahine Roxy collection. We will miss seeing you in the yellow jersey. You wore the jersey more than anyone else on tour these last 5 or so years.
I can’t wait to see what you do next

A snippet from the transgender policy that WSL have adopted.
As stated in an interview with in May last year …

“I don’t have the solution. However, having RESPECTFUL non aggressive, collaborative conversations is a start”

“In order to for an athlete who was assigned male at birth and whose gender has changed and identifies as a woman, the surfer must satisfy the International Surfing Association Medical Commission that her serum testosterone concentration has been less than 5 nmol/L continuously for a period of the previous 12 months and secondly, meets any other requirements reasonably set by the Executive Committee and/or Medical Commission”

We are now for months on from that day, the WSL final, where Stephanie Gilmore made history.
Not only is Steph hands down the greatest female surfer of all time she is a nice person.
She's humble, down-to-earth, and always pushing the limits of what's possible in the sport.
The journey to her record breaking 8th Title gives me goosebumps!
