DEC ARRESTS KCM PROVISIONAL LIQUIDATOR MILINGO LUNGU FOR THEFT The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested the Konkola Copper Mines Provisional Liquidator Milingo Lungu for theft involving over K17 million Particulars of the offence are that Mr. Milingo Lungu, whilst acting together with other persons unknown, between 6th May 2021 and 30th transferred funds from the Liquidation Account to his Law Firm’s Account and instructed the Bank to put the said funds on fixed account deposit. This arrangement earned him interest of K17,250,000.00 which he withdrew, and transferred back part of the principal amount to KCM Plc (in liquidation) through another account. Commission Public Relations Officer Mathias Kamanga who confirmed the arrest said that K136,828,795 has since been seized from Mr. Lungu, who is out on police bond and will appear in court soon. The state of the art hospital has a bed capacity of 830 beds coupled with 13 fully equipped top notch theaters, 2 specialized smart theaters fitted with 5K and 8K cameras for video telecasting for purposes of real time practical medical training for University students. The hospital also has equipment such as CT-Scanners and Dialysis Machine apart from the periphery Wifi internet connectivity publicly accessible as well as Closed-Circuit TV security monitoring systems. Once fully operational, the hospital will invariably provide world class health services historically accessed abroad by the privileged, to many Zambians which will cushion the pressure on the over-burdened University Teaching Hospital-UTH.
