Kawambwa Central Mark a New Era of Peaceful Politics
The Director for the Implementor’s Team, Mr. Sibaya Fred, widely known as Master Fred, has provided an update on the ongoing developments in Kawambwa Central during the by-elections. Speaking on the ground, Mr. Fred highlighted that the by-elections were necessitated by the arrest of the area’s Member of Parliament, paving the way for a fresh electoral process.

He stated that the judgement passed on former President Edgar Lungu's eligibility played a critical role in defusing tensions in the region. Miss Grace Chilekwa, a community member, also shared her experience at a rally led by Minister Nkhandu Elvis. She described the rally as a heartwarming event, praising the Minister’s ability to connect with the people regardless of their social standing. “Minister Nkhandu Elvis showed exceptional leadership by actively engaging with everyone, from grassroots members to community leaders. It was a rare and commendable display of humility,” she said.
The peaceful nature of the elections in Kawambwa Central has been lauded as a reflection of the region’s shifting political dynamics. Observers have pointed out that the community’s embrace of dialogue and rejection of violence sets a promising precedent for future electoral processes.
