For this RnD series, we wanted to explore the science behind the formation of mineral and crystal structures.
Since the formation of crystals follow simple rules of geometry and symmetry, it was a natural decision to use Houdini as our development tool.
The end results are simple yet striking compositions.

Sometimes, breaking up the pieces of a whole is the best way to put them back together. For this internal animation project, we explored the individual elements of a few classic sports– from the courts they’re played on, the nets used for scoring, to the personal gear such as gloves, balls, and even chalk used by the athletes.

THE SLEEPING BEAUTY for

Steelworks seamlessly visualized the production’s choreography into the campaign through the use of kaleidoscopic patterns mirroring the most identifiable scenes. Simultaneously, through the use of texture and color– including warm pinks, lilacs, yellows and orange-golds juxtaposed against bold, dark black tones, we were able to encapsulate an array of the production’s storyline.
