Derrick Rose & adidas Basketball ‘Becoming A Rose’

Chicago Red forever. 🌹 Making his directorial debut, ‘Becoming A Rose’ is a powerful short film that takes us on a deeply personal journey through Derrick Rose’s life, from the United Center to his childhood home on the South Side, sharing intimate moments with his son, PJ. Along the way, he revisits the iconic places that shaped him: the playground where he proved himself, the halls of Simeon where he led his team to state titles, and the barbershop that marked so many young men’s journeys. The film’s refreshing visuals were further enhanced with the help of Senior Colorist Joseph Bicknell, adding depth to this heartfelt tribute to Rose’s city and his roots. 🏀

"Our job is to help convey that claustrophobic feeling with sound,” says Re-recording Mixer Steve Foster in postPerspective. “It’s almost a sort of tunnel vision — or 'silo vision.'”

At Company 3 Toronto, Foster and Mark Zsifkovits utilized Dolby Atmos to build the oppressive soundscape of Silo’s144-story underground world. Their work, paired with Senior Colorist Bill Ferwerda’s visual grade, delivers a fully immersive experience.
