Shooting up north this week! Client has a rental a-frame cabin with mirror siding in Northern and the needed pictures for the rental website! I used my LightandMotion Lights (with 10,000 lumins) to illuminate the woods behind the . I also placed a light behind me so the reflection of the trees could be seen in the mirrors. .

Annie and I shooting this morning at Pet Evolution and of course, we had to take a couple of Photo's with Santa too! Santa is actually Peter Carlson the President of Pet Evolution. They are currently franchising across the country and within a few years will be the largest Pet Store in the country! Amazing company with amazing people!!!!

What a great day! The unveiling of the 11 foot tall "Imagine Sculpture" by World Famous Artist Bill Mack! Not only did I get to help (a tiny bit) in arraigning the blocks during the design phase, I also got to shoot the unveiling today in the lobby of the new Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Minneapolis. (Bill Mack also sculpted the statues all around Target Field.)

Snookered by cloud cover, rain and fog most of the entire holiday weekend in Lutsen, MN on the Northshore of Lake Superior. However, I did get lucky with a few brief breaks in the clouds Friday overnight giving way to the milkyway teasing my camera.

Interesting was a brief appearance of the aurora borealis (above the cloud cover) at around the 14 second mark of the video. The clouds were briefly backlight and illuminated by a green hue.

Also note a couple of freighters passing each other at around the 17 second mark.

Blood moon lunar eclipse, May 15th, 2022 at 11pm CDT. Shot on a with an FE Sony 200-600 G lens and a 2X extender.
..and why does the moon turn red? Well, the sunlight on the other side of earth does not all get completely blocked. Some filtered light makes it around the earth and does hit the moon. But the light is similar to what we see at sunrise and sunset -- with the blue and green light wavelengths being scattered off the atmosphere. So only the reds/oranges make it through. Thus, the reason for the color. (Going back to my meteorology days!)
