I'm launching a Patreon! For folks who are unfamiliar: Patreon is a way to give small recurring financial support to an artist. Since my books are research-intensive and my style is (lol) intricate, it is months or years of work before I have a product that is ready to sell. My goal is to offset the cost of childcare for 2 days/week so I can return to a regular schedule of work. If you become a patron you can get a behind-the-scenes peek at projects I'm working on. Thanks for considering! (Also: skip to 3min 26sec in the video for a Very Cute summation.)

Podcast, anthology, posters, talks, travel: all the spring news you could ask for!

Winter months of seclusion and quiet labor are changing to spring: little nubbins of grass are popping up out of dry soil, snowdrop flowers are brightening up fence perimeters, and Chicago is dressed in optimistic shorts on the first over-40-degree day. The sun is out! Let's shine some light on what…

Bring it on, 2015.

I love this time of year. I err towards the sincere and earnest, so between connecting with family and friends around December holidays and self-reflection at new year, I'm in my element. And so, here on new year's eve it's time to say: farewell, 2014! This was a big year, but not a simple one. Prof…

What it looks like to write, mock-up, pencil, ink, trim, fold and bind 40 little books in a week

My new mini-comic, Self-Dual, is set to debut at TCAF this weekend, May 10 - 11 at the Toronto Reference Library. From outlining the project to editioning 40 copies, this little trifold-cover book consumed an intense week of hand-cramping production. I will post this for sale in the Monkey-Rope Pres…

Keep your eyes peeled for a crowdsourcing fundraiser to help the Read/Write Library replace their stolen BiblioTreka mobile library!
