Staying busy on hiatus… I just finished scoring a 30 minute documentary about a charitable organization called Laundry Love produced and directed by Tremain Hayhoe. I created theme music packages for two cable access shows Sac Town Movie Buffs for Kierre Stowes and Ball Park Sports Lounge for John Demakas & Larry Watson which I am finishing today. I say theme packages because each has a 30 second cut, a 15 second cut, a News Bed cut and In & Out Bumpers for segment or commercial transitions. I am also working on writing a screenplay in my spare time, a murder mystery. Still… I have time for more! Whatcha got?

Hey folks, two films I had the privilege of scoring and mixing will be showing this weekend at the Esquire IMAX theater as part of the SacTown Movie Buffs film festival. At the end of 2023 I scored and mixed the audio for a fantastic 20 minute film by writer/director Mo Alagi, however I wasn’t happy with a dialogue mix. It was a hot day when it was shot and there were fans running and the dialogue was recorded at a distance with lots of room reverberation. The old school noise reduction I had just didn’t do a good enough job and the film premieres next month and will be shown in an IMAX theater so good sound was paramount. (At the beginning of this year I invested in some new state of the art audio tools) So a couple days ago, I went back to the session, took the original audio track, and used my new A.I. process to separate the dialogue and background noise, then treated the dialogue with some light compression, de-essing, EQ & reduced the room reflections. Then mixed the background noise (now a separate track) back in at a much lower volume and… Boom! Dialogue sounds natural but 90% more present, close, clear and intelligible. I am actually blown away by how well this worked in rescuing on-set audio. This technology is an absolute game changer!

Film Makers! I am primarily known around town as a music composer however in working on some local films have noticed some pretty sketchy on-set audio… So I have invested in a brand new suite of state of the art audio tools for audio post-production and cleanup. If your film has some audio issues, clicks, pops, hum, background noise, clipping, harsh eq, too quiet, too loud, can’t clearly hear the dialogue… you name it… I can likely fix it. Let’s chat!

I have recently had occasion to update my resume and in doing so, am reminded I have had a rather interesting career in music. I have had to reinvent myself several times over, and in doing so have acquired a very unique skill set as it pertains to music production. I never quite had the career I thought I wanted, but have also managed to stay alive for 20 years without a soul crushing non-music related day job, spending the last 8 years creating two album ready pieces of music a week nine months out of the year in countless genres for what is now called the Paramount World Wide Music Library.
Between a couple music-heavy shows being canceled, and the writer/actor strike, and the impending doom of network television as we know it now (thanks to streaming) I need to supplement things for a bit, and have been talking to some folks about teaching a music technology & production program (more on that later as it is conceptual at the moment) which would be allot of fun for me. Change is the only constant in the universe, and I have gotten too comfortable, it's time to grow again.
P.S. If any of my musician friends have music they need mixed or mastered, I am at the top of my game... Hit me up!

I’m proud to present “The Night Before Christmas” a short film produced by & that I had the pleasure of creating the score for. Thanks to Michael Scordakis & Josh Williams for bringing me in on the project. The whole film was conceived THIS MONTH, from writing and casting to filming & final edit, I had just a few days to create the music. Really fun challenge! I hope you enjoy it!

Thought you might dig hearing the remix I did of Chris Classick's track Back Home. Originally the track had a hip hop vibe, I turned it into an R&B Dance Pop thing. This was created for the Vintage King remix contest, unfortunately I missed the deadline by a day because... Oops. I was given all the original tracks, but mixed and used the vocals only, all the music is my production.
