Busoga Region to Access Chinese Market

The Busoga Consortium and the Liaoning Province penned signature on a trade memorandum of understanding that is meant to operationalise relations between Liaoning Province. The fact that Uganda is a green cou8ntry with very good weather and fertile soils for agriculture, Busoga region happens to be one of those regions endowed with fertile soil suitable for crop enterprises of Soya Beans, Corn, Sim Sim and Cassava which are widely grown crops in Busoga region. The three years trade MOU signed between Busoga Consortium and Liaoning Province is meant for farmers in Busoga region and across the country to get value for money without characteristic actors called “middlemen”. While on a phone interview with the Director Busoga Consortium, Mr.Mula Anthony, called on the farmers at housel hold level in Busoga region and across the country to be consistency in mass production and to also exhaust the benefits of the signed MOU. Part of the benefits in the signed MOU is setup of collection centers across the country with the collaboration of government agencies ie: ministry of agriculture, ministry of cooperatives just to mention but a few. This will shorten the distance that farmers have to move in order to get their agricultural produce processed. The function was graced by the Busoga region local government leadership, religious leaders, representation from cultural leaders and civil society. The Busoga Consortium was established in April 2017

The Uganda day of the MSMEs trade fair at kololo Independence grounds was officiated by The 1stDPM|Minister for Ministry of East African Community Affairs Uganda - MEACA Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga -MP. upon the minister's arrival, was the Deputy Secretary General -EAC Secretariat who ushered the minister to the EAC-Sec tent where she was given a brief on the day's program. the woman Member of Parliament of Uganda for kamuli district was cheerfully welcomed by the exhibitors during her tour of the stalls in a solar motor vehicle made in katwe, a Kampala suburb. while delivering her keynote address, the emeritus of the 9th and 10th parliament of Uganda said that the strategy for going forward as a region is to promote the growth of sustainable MSMEs through enhanced business support, access to finance, encourage and to procure locally manufactured products and identify opportunities for upgrading for the development of our entrepreneurs. the 22nd MSMEs EAC Trade Fair is in Uganda and will last for 11 days.

On 15th/04/2022, Thé 1DPM and Minister of East African Community Affairs in Uganda Dr.|Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga -MP together with Ministers of Defense and State Minister of Trade went to Mutukula to break ground for the regional market. on 1st/05/2022 during the labour day celebrations , President Tibuhaburwa Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commissioned the architectural plan of the $700 million project which will take two years to construct.
