The struggle for freedom and democracy betrayed is good read that all young people should read especially the young girls. Miria Matembe's rise from obscurity to prominence onto the Ugandan political scene is inspirational. Her character as a resilient and God fearing leader is something to borrow a leaf from. Her bitter sweet relationship with the ruling government as narrated in her memoirs also gives insight on the historical roots of the government's short comings. Overall it is a well written book that I feel might have been underrated by the reading community. Pop in at Sankara Pan African library and have an experience of Pan African Liberation literature as you enjoy a cup of coffee. I highly recommend this beautiful hideout.
