Graphic footage. You might not have watch this horrible plane crash in South Korea.

South Korea plane crash investigation underway, with Jeju Air jet's cockpit voice recorder heading to U.S.

South Korean officials have vowed to find out what caused a Boeing 737-800 passenger jet operated by Jeju Air to crash into flames as it attempted to land over the weekend, killing all but two of the 181 people on board. Days after the crash, there were still far more questions than answers about the country's worst aviation disaster in decades.

Authorities ordered an immediate inspection of all 737-800 aircraft operated by the country's airlines — dozens of planes in total — following the crash, but there was still no clear indication as to whether a system malfunction, human error, or some combination of factors had caused the disaster.

Experts from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing were on the ground inspecting the crash site, and the NTSB was set to play a crucial role in deciphering data from the plane's "black boxes," which record information from the cockpit and aircraft systems.

Afghan Taliban vow to retaliate after Pakistani air strikes kill at least 46

Pakistan air strikes in an eastern border province of Afghanistan killed 46 people, the Taliban government spokesman told AFP on Wednesday, as the defence ministry vowed retaliation.

The strikes were the latest spike in hostilities on the frontier between Afghanistan and Pakistan, with border tensions between the two countries escalating since the Taliban government seized power in 2021.

Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said late Tuesday that Pakistan bombarded four areas in the Barmal district of eastern Paktika province.

"The total number of dead is 46, most of whom were children and women," he said, adding that six more people were wounded, mostly children.

Deputy government spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat said those killed in the strikes were refugees.

Israel pounds Houthi targets in Yemen in bid to halt missile attacks

Israel said it carried out attacks on Yemen's main port and airport on Thursday as in an effort to end persistent ballistic missile attacks carried out with Iranian help.

An armed Shi'ite movement which controls most of northern Yemen, the Houthis are armed by Iran and part of its so-called Axis of Resistance against Israel.

The group is one of Iran's only robust armed allies after rebels toppled Syria's Bashar al-Assad in Syria while Palestinian Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah have been degraded by Israeli ground and air raids for much of the last 14 months.

"We are determined to cut off this terror arm of the Iranian axis of evil. We will persist in this until we complete the job," Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video statement from the the air force command center in Tel Aviv.
