📖BOOK REVIEW📖

Our book reviewer Grace, age 10, has been up well past her bedtime for quite a few nights polishing off The Grimmelings, by Rachael King.

It's set in the South Island high country, features a kelpie from Scottish mythology, and is shortlisted for the NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults.

Start scouring your fruit bowls and gardens!🥝🍓🍐

Wonky Box is running a competition to find the wonkiest looking piece of fruit!

The winner gets a fruity prize pack valued at over $350, including a month's supply of fruit Wonky Boxes and a wonky fruit bowl from Wellington ceramicist Plain and Simple, amongst other goodies.

The winning wonky fruit will also be immortalised in a photographic print by Kiwi artist Adam Popovic that will be auctioned on TradeMe, with the proceeds donated to food rescue charity, KiwiHarvest.

The competition is being held to celebrate the launch of Wonky Box's new fruit-only boxes and runs until 28 June.

It's Bullying-free NZ week! Isn't that something we all want?

To acknowledge this, Barnados is opening up its free national children's counselling service - 0800 What’s Up - to adults caring for children and young people too.

From 9am to 11am this week only, adults can access advice and support to help tamariki and rangatahi navigate challenging situations.

0800 What's Up is usually open from 11am to 11pm (online and on the phone) for children and teenagers to speak to a counsellor when they need support. But this week they're offering help for parents too.
