The Kogi state police command have arrested some suspects linked to the Killing of one Babatunde Orogu, a 34-year-old man in Kogi state. It was reported that the man was Kidnapped in the month of March and killed that same month after his family members paid a ransom. According to the report, the Kidnappers used the man's SIM card to negotiate the ransom twice before killing him.
A video of one of the suspects being questioned by the police has now gone viral online, and the video has now been shared by several popular blogs.
According to the suspect, the 34-year-old victim was Kidnapped and taken into the bush where they negotiated ransom with his family members. However, after collecting money from the victim's family member, an issue came up. The suspect stated that his fellow gang member known as Abdul said they had to kill the man because he had recognised him.
He stated that Abdul had worked as a labourer for the victim once, and this was why Abdul was not comfortable with them releasing the victim after the ransom was paid. He then revealed that Abdul asked him to use the knife to kill the man, but he said he had to pray first. According to him, he proceeded to killing the man after praying.

The Enugu State Police Command has begun a manhunt for the shooters who killed five individuals, three of whom were law enforcement officers, in the New Haven region of the state.
Following the crime on Wednesday, the suspects allegedly kidnapped a person who has not yet been named near the St. Francis Supermarket, Block Bus Stop, New Haven, in the state's Enugu North Local Government Area.
The incident was confirmed by the police command's spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who also informed the media that a thorough manhunt had been begun to find the attackers.
According a source, the gunmen drove a Lexus Jeep and opened fire on a patrol vehicle carrying police officers at New Haven, Enugu State's Chime Avenue.
When the gunmen assaulted the officers at around 10.30 p.m., they were reportedly performing a stop-and-search duty in the area when two civilians were killed after being caught in the crossfire.
Sadly, three police officers were shot dead after being defeated. According to a source, the attackers also stole their guns and kidnapped one person.
One further source stated, "The hoodlums reportedly kidnapped one individual, while two bystanders caught in the crossfire were also among the dead."
Unconfirmed accounts, however, suggested that the two victims were shooters who died from police gunfire rather than innocent bystanders.
It occurred at the bus stop next to Frank's store, according to a security alert put out by locals. Three police officers have already been killed. Guys, just so you know, stay away from New Haven if we're still outdoors. Two injured police officers are still lying here motionless.

Drama as police, civil servants ‘force’ FRSC officials to free impounded vehicles in Abuja

There was mild drama at the federal secretariat in Abuja on Thursday afternoon as some some civil servants and policemen prevented personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) from towing away impounded vehicles in the ministries of education and police affairs’ section of the secretariat.
Trouble started when the FRSC officials, who had impounded wrongly parked vehicles in the area were about to tow them away, prompting resistance from the angry workers.
The civil servants, who also prevailed on the policemen attached to the area to intervene on the issue, said there was no prior notice to relevant authorities in the ministries on such action, even as they locked the gate against the FRSC personnel.
“They came here with full force, trying to tow away people vehicles. Can you imagine they even impounded the Permanent Secretary’s vehicle? They did not even write to inform people in charge of this place that this type of operation will take place,” one of the civil servant, who failed to disclose his name said.
Normalcy was however, restored in the area when the visibly humiliated FRSC personnel removed the barriers placed on the affected vehicles’ tyres.
Pamphlet reports that many motorists in the area have often complained of regular harassment from FRSC personnel on the issue of parking, saying it sometimes cost as much as N10,000 to release impounded vehicle.

Protest rocks Osinbajo’s visit to US, Nigerians storm meeting venue

Some United States of America-based Nigerians have staged a protest against the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) to the country.
Vice President Osinbajo’s visit was to seek global partnerships and support for Nigeria’s recently launched Energy Transition Plan.
During the visit, the Vice President met with his US counterpart, Kamala Harris, who commended him for his commitment.
However, a protest rocked the visit.
The Nigerian protesters, who carried placards with the image of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, wore t-shirts with inscriptions such as: “Omo Yoruba ni mi,” which means: “I am a Yoruba child.”
The protesters said: “No light, no food in Nigeria and they come here to get a loan for energy.
“What energy?
“They also borrowed from China.
“We are here to protest against the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and his entourage.
“The Centre for Global Development is going to address them and we want to tell them no no.
“They want to lend Nigeria the sum of $110 billion and we are here to say no to that.
“No more loan to Nigerian Government.
“Nigeria Government are thieves.
“They are using the money for banditry.
The protesters started shouting harder when they saw a man who they referred to as one of the delegates from Nigeria alight from a car.
They started shouting: “Ole,” a local name for thief.
One of them said: “They are thieves.
“Tell them to come down from the car.”
However, the other supposed delegates did not alight from the car even as the protesters focused their camera to their vehicles.

NIGERIAN singer, Paul Okoye of the PSquare duo has responded to the Delta State police spokesman, Bright Edafe who insulted him on social media.
The drama began when the singer, in a post via his Instagram story on Sunday, September 4, 2022, cried foul over the arrest of his colleague, Ice Prince, saying that if a police officer enters his car and tells him to drive off, he will assume that the officer is a criminal or kidnapper.
Edafe fired back at the singer fondly known as Rudeboy, on his Twitter account, calling the singer a “Celebrity with no sense”.
Paul who had read the police officer’s tweet swiftly replied. In his reply, the singer mocked the Nigeria Police Force over their lack of hygiene and unethical methods.
He wrote; “Lol DSP… I blame myself for fighting for a better life for you people. . If to say una join us protest, una for make extra money, well paid, buy better soap and body spray so that when una enter cars e nor go get counter smells.

Okoye’s earlier post was in regards to Rapper Ice prince, who was accused of allegedly abducting a police officer.
In a post, made by the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Friday, 5th of September, the Ice Prince was accused of abduction and threatening to throw an officer into the river after he was stopped for driving without number plates.
The music star was later prosecuted on the same day and remanded at the Ikoyi Prison till his bail requirements are met.

The visit of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Baba Alkali to Imo State Tuesday to receive 10 Amoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) donated by Imo state government, did not stop the senseless killings associated with operatives suspected to be Ebubeagu Security Outfit.
While the IGP was at the governnent house Owerri doing the commissioning, security operatives killed motorcyclist popularly known as Okada man from a neighbouring village, Agwa, at Ogbaku in Mbaitoli local government area of the state.
News correspondent gathered that when the operatives arrived the Okada park around the busy Owerri-Onitsha road with a Sienna vehicle without a plate number and dressed in their usual black outfit, they allegedly called the victim out and told him to enter the vehicle.
But he refused and asked them repeatedly why he should do that. It was why they struggled in vain to force him to enter the vehicle that they decided to shoot him at close range and afterwards left the scene, an eye witness said.
The eye witness also said, “After they left the scene, people who had watched from afar, gathered round the co**se and raised an alarm.
As at the time of filing this report, the State Police Command had not reacted to the incident and no information on what the man did had been revealed.

Russia offers weapons, military training to Africa allies, others

President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia is ready to supply military equipment to allied countries in Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
According to him, Russia is also ready to train foreign fighters.
Putin made this known during the “Army-2022” opening ceremony on Monday.
“Russia sincerely cherishes historically strong, friendly, truly trusting ties with the countries of Latin America, Asia, and Africa,” the Russian leader said.
He explained further that Russia was prepared to supply its allies in these continents “the most modern types of weapons,” ranging from small arms to armored vehicles and artillery to combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Putin pointed out that Russia has many allies, partners and like-minded people across these continents, adding that his country values this so highly.
Putin said that there are advantages for countries to train their soldiers in Russia, while inviting allies to do joint military exercises.

The police spokesman in Lagos, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Tuesday on his verified Twitter handle.
According to Mr Hundeyin, after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the Abule-Egba bridge at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, motorcycle riders started to cause a public disturbance.
He said police arrived at the scene to quell the unrest, but the motorcyclists violently attacked the policemen.
“We are fully aware of the disturbances in the Oko-Oba area of Lagos state. This resulted in the death of one of the riders. Normalcy has been restored to the area. The police in Oko-Oba are fully on the ground to forestall any breakdown of law and order,” he said.

A gun battle was said to have ensued between the soldiers and gunmen on Sunday.
Other residents were also injured during the incident.

Cameroonian forces have invaded the camp of separatist militants in Isangele sub-division of Bakassi Peninsula but with no casualty.
It was gathered that the invasion, which took place at the weekend, may not be unconnected with the attack by the Black Marine, a suspected armed wing of the Biafra Nations League (BnL), that reportedly killed four members of the Rapid D’intervention Battalion (BIR) about two weeks ago when they attempted to forcefully invade the camp.
Sources said the Cameroonian soldiers did not meet anybody in the camp as the separatist fighters were said to have relocated, leaving items such as Biafran flags on the trees.
They said the militant group moved inwards into the creek, leaving the military wondering about their position.
The BnL leader of Bakassi, Ita Bassey, in a statement, yesterday, confirmed the attack. He said: “Our members are not afraid of military reinforcement in Isangele as we are fighting a genuine course.
He declined to comment if the Black Marine were working for the BnL, but warned that BnL commands large loyalists in the Gulf of Guinea. He added: “We are ready to die for our course.
Meanwhile, the leader of BnL, Princewill Richards, was in Idabato sub-division for few days, following reinforcement of troops. It was gathered that he sneaked in at night on Wednesday last week to engage his members.
Recall that the Black Marine has been terrorising the Gulf of Guinea and threatening Cameroonian oil companies operating in the area.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, zone six, Calabar, Kola Kamaldeen has said that this is the end of the road for extortion and harassment of members of the public by police officers.
Kamaldeen, who was reacting to the two recent dismissals of personnel who manhandled two civilians from the force by the Inspector General of Police, said they want officers to maintain civility when relating with members of the public.
“It is from the taxes they pay to the government that our salaries are paid. We work for them,” he said.
Kamaldeen said the top hierarchy of the force had continually advised officers and men to “behave as civilly as possible because they are also Nigerians.”
He continued, “We must allow that slogan ‘Police is your friend’ to come alive positively.
We must be friendly to members of the public and allow the rule of law to reign.

A student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Happiness Odeh, has been reportedly killed by her abductors.
The ND2 student of Mass Communication was said to have been kidnapped on her way to Ipara, in Ode Remo on Tuesday evening
We gathered that the beauty queen was kidnapped along Iperu road by some unknown persons who it was gathered, r***d her before killing her in cold blood.
The MAPOLY Students Union (MAPSU), has confirmed the incident.
According to a statement signed by the Students Union President, Sodiq Ajani and the Public Relations Officer, Joy Okolie, the deceased was kidnapped three days ago while going to visit a movie location.
Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Students Union (MAPSU) announces the untimely death of Miss Happiness Odeh, a Mass Communication student of MAPOLY.
According to reports, she was abducted along Iperu road to her destination. The deceased left Abeokuta three days ago to visit a movie location at Ipara, Ode-Remo, with the consent of her parents.
Contrary to the rumours flying around, her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY. She won the award on the 3rd of August and the movie location she attended has nothing to do with the beauty pageantry on campus.
We commiserate with her family, friends and colleagues. May Almighty God grant us all the fortitude to bear this painful loss. Continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord,” the statement read.
Speaking with our correspondent on Saturday, the Students Union President said the murderers took away the victim’s phone.
According to him, the police have commenced investigations, making efforts to get the assailants arrested.
Ajani informed that the body of the slain student had been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.

A reported success recorded by the Lagos state Police Command in their efforts towards curtailing insecurity.
Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, who is the Lagos State Police's Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said, "after searching their Mercedes Benz, we (Officers) saw a Baretta Pistol with seven (7) live ammunitions."
The Lagos PPRO added that the two men were arrested during a stop and search operation by some officers along Budo Specialist Hospital Road. After their arrest, it was realized that they are suspected to be cultists.
Benjamin Hundeyin again noted that further investigations are ongoing to unravel more details about the suspects, their source of firearm and modus operandi. Once these get done, they would then be arraigned before the court for illegal possession of a firearm and live ammunition.

Two members of the Ebubeagu militia in Imo State were reportedly captured at the boundary between Izombe and Agwa communities in Oguta local council following a fierce gun battle Sunday.
The Ebubeagu operatives had reportedly positioned themselves on the way from Amakpuruedere Izombe village to Ogborafor Izombe market, trying to prevent the village from participating in the market outing of the yearly Okorosha Izombe festival.
A source confirmed to our correspondent that following an exchange of gunfire between the gunmen and the state militia, which lasted for about two hours, the operatives abandoned three of their vehicles and fled.
According to him, “the operatives of Ebubeagu Security Outfit felt that the event would be an avenue for them to come and arrest the masterminds of Friday’s Agwa Police Station destruction where four policemen were killed and vehicles burnt with explosives, some whom they felt would be there because of the closeness of Izombe to Agwa.
“On getting to the venue of the cultural festival, the Ebubeagu operatives made attempts to disrupt the event which was resisted by the people. Unknown to them, some gunmen who got information about their presence in Izombe rushed down to the boundary between Izombe and Agwa where they laid ambush for them. When they later came down to the boundary after their futile attempt to disrupt the festival, they were confronted by the unknown gunmen who engaged them in a gun duel. This eventually led to the capture of not less than two Ebubeagu operatives by the unknown gunmen, while some scampered for safety, the eyewitness disclosed.

Troops of the Nigerian Army Troops have reportedly sacked Orau-Ihiteukwa community in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
Sources said the soldiers also looted and burnt over 150 houses belonging to the residents on Saturday.
News gathered that the soldiers who were said to have trailed some gunmen that attacked Agwa Divisional Police headquarters in Oguta Local Government Area where four policemen were killed to the community, whisked away Chief Pius Nwannakwe, President General Orsu Ihiteukwa autonomous community, Geoffrey Emeti and Friday Anele, a former chairman of Igwebuike union.
A source earlier reported that yet-to-be identified gunmen invaded Agwa Divisional Police headquarters in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo on Friday night and killed four policemen and two family members.
It reported that some parts of the division and vehicles, including the one allegedly belonging to the Divisional Police Officer were burnt by the attackers.
The hoodlums were also reported to have invaded a private residence and killed occupants husband and wife, identified as Ejike before fleeing.
The development has caused panic in the area as natives and residents expressed shock.
Meanwhile, International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law otherwise known as Intersociety has revealed in a research report that over 1800 houses belonging to residents of South East were burnt with N50 billion worth of property looted by Nigerian Army troops since 2020.

According to the reporte, these gumen kidnapped Owolabi and Racheal last week and called their families to demand a ransom.
The gunmen named the ransom to be 100 million naira, but the family negotiated it down to 5 million naira and they accepted the price. The abductor explained the point that they would meet for them.
However, the family took Okada to the place where the gunmen had promised to meet them. After getting there, they gave the 5 million naira to the gunmen as they had negotiated.
Instead of the gunmen releasing the abducted victim to the family, they shot the victim dead. It was also reported that the gunmen also shot dead the Okada rider, and the family that took ransom to them was also shot, but he luckily escaped the scene with injuries.

An Islamic preacher based in Sokoto State, Bello Yabo, has prayed that terrorists who threatened to kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, should be successful in their mission.
Yabo, who said the prayer while reacting to Shehu’s comment on the terrorists’ threat, however, appealed to the kidnappers to release the innocent victims in their custody.
He insisted the terrorists are free to kidnap Nigerian top leaders.
A source reported how terrorists who abducted passengers of a Kaduna-bound train in a viral video, threatened to kidnap President Buhari, El-Rufai and some lawmakers if they did not comply with their demands.
But Shehu while reacting to the threat had said that the terrorist activity using propaganda and the use of violence to force governments to accept or submit to political demands is not new all over world.
In response to Shehu’s statement, the Islamic cleric berated him (Shehu) for simply describing the threat as prograpanda. The cleric accused Shehu of being insensitive to the unfortunate plight of kidnapped victims.
According to a report Yabo prayed for Shehu to fall into the hands of the kidnappers,I pray they kidnap you, Garba Shehu, and demonstrate as propaganda.
We are praying for you kidnappers. May God grant you success in carrying out your threats to kidnap those people. But please release the innocent people in captivity.
If these were the kind of people you have been abducting all this while, we wouldn’t have bothered ourselves. We would instead pray and bless you because they have become a disaster [to us].

Actress Chioma Ifemeludike, has scorned her colleagues for refuting claims of having sexual relations with founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman.
Few days ago, a popular blog published list of some actresses and BBNaija celebrities who allegedly had illicit affairs with Suleman.
The blog also accused the Apostle being diabolical.
Reacting to the blogger’s allegation, a number of actresses debunked the viral reports but never denied knowing the controversial man of God.
Suleiman, responding in a viral YouTube post on Wednesday, dared the ‘faceless’ blogger to bare his/her identity.
However, Ifemeludike who made a confessional video about her intimate affair with the cleric a few months ago, slammed her colleagues for denying their s3xual involvement with him.

Addressing her colleagues, Ifemeludike told them to continue denying their acts but noted it was only a matter of time before the truth would be uncovered.

Police Recover Jeep Belonging To Missing Actress In Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command, Friday, recovered a jeep belonging to Cynthia Okereke, a Nollywood actress reportedly missing after shooting a film in Enugu.
Cynthia, alongside an actor, Clemson Cornel, reportedly got missing after the shooting at Ozalla in Nkanu West LGA of the state, their families reported.
Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the development in a press release.
According to him,today the command, at about 7:30am received information that a red-coloured Toyota RAV4 jeep with reg. no. AGL199 CY was noticed to have been parked in an abandoned way at Four-Corners, along Enugu/Port-Harcourt expressway, Ozalla, Nkanu West.
“Hence, the location was visited and the vehicle recovered. Coincidentally, at about 11.30am of same date, a report was further received stating that the vehicle belongs to one Cynthia Okereke (f), a Nollywood actress, who was last seen on 26/07/2022.
“While the current report at our disposal dwells on a case of abandoned and recovered vehicle, as well as missing person, investigation has, however, been launched to locate the said person and unravel the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
“Further development will be communicated.”
Ndukwe did not say anything about Clemson.

Drama as police, civil servants ‘force’ FRSC officials to free impounded vehicles in Abuja NewsAlerts.ng Sep 9, 2022 5:47 AM There was mild drama at the federal secretariat in Abuja on Thursday afternoon as some some civil servants and policemen prevented personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) from towing away impounded vehicles in the ministries of education and police affairs’ section of the secretariat. Trouble started when the FRSC officials, who had impounded wrongly parked vehicles in the area were about to tow them away, prompting resistance from the angry workers. The civil servants, who also prevailed on the policemen attached to the area to intervene on the issue, said there was no prior notice to relevant authorities in the ministries on such action, even as they locked the gate against the FRSC personnel. “They came here with full force, trying to tow away people vehicles. Can you imagine they even impounded the Permanent Secretary’s vehicle? They did not even write to inform people in charge of this place that this type of operation will take place,” one of the civil servant, who failed to disclose his name said. Normalcy was however, restored in the area when the visibly humiliated FRSC personnel removed the barriers placed on the affected vehicles’ tyres. Pamphlet reports that many motorists in the area have often complained of regular harassment from FRSC personnel on the issue of parking, saying it sometimes cost as much as N10,000 to release impounded vehicle.
