What is going on in Igboland? Does it mean Igboland under Military occupation?

Why do we always have useless Politicians, Igbo leaders? Corrupt Governors and OhanaEze?

You can NEVER see such spread of Military checkpoints in the Northeast/Northwest or Southwest.

Everything about Nigeria is How to conquer Southeast/and reduce Igboland. And Igboland leaders keep quiet thereby endorsing their high-handedness.

I am calling on the Politicians/ Governors and OhanaEze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide to do something about this to avoid further clashes between IPOB and the Military at this checkpoint because these are deliberate provocation.

No reasonable human being will accept His region and territory to be occupied in this manner. The only people that will endorse this nonsense are the stupid Governors in The Southeast.

NOTE: The military barracks in Igboland are already in the excess by occupying thousands of acres of land In Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi.

Instead of closing down some of the Military barracks especially
1. Ohafia Abia State,
2.Obirinze Imo State (this one right within Owerri capital metropolis. )
3. Army barrack at Obodo ( within Onitsha metropolis)
4. 82 Division Enugu. These checkpoints are right within residential neighborhoods.

Igbo leaders should do something or step aside and allow The present Youth to be in charge of Igboland.

We are not going to beg the Nigeria government to do something about these Military barracks and checkpoints but to confront them.

Igbo Council Petitions Nigerian Chief of Defence, Lists 90 Southeast Checkpoints Where Road Users Face Extortion, Humiliation By HQ Nigerian Army , Joint Task Force Personnel

The Igbo National Council (INC) Worldwide has submitted a petition to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa.

In the petition, the INC demanded immediate action against the alleged extortion and humiliation of motorists and other civilian road users by security operatives at Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoints/Outposts across the five states of the South-East region of Nigeria.

The INC in the petition signed by its President, Chilos A.C. Godsent, and obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday, identified 90 security checkpoints across the South-East region among which the Council said people of the region have experienced several extortions and humiliations by police, military and other security operatives.

“With all sense of dismay and pains in our heart, we are compelled to bring to your knowledge the ongoing unconstitutional and unacceptable acts by security operatives serving in some of the Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoints/Outposts in the five states of the South-East Region of Nigeria,” it said.

The Council noted that by the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Act Establishing the Armed Forces and other security agencies of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is understood that the primary role of the Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoints/Outposts wherever they are located in Nigeria is to provide security for the protection of lives, properties and livelihood of the people in the communities and localities including the maintenance of law and order.

However, the INC stated, “Contrary to the above, security operatives serving in some of the JTF/Military Checkpoints/Outposts in the five states of the South-East Region of Nigeria have turned these checkpoints and outposts into illegal tollgates and humiliation points against civilian road users. The worst of it is that they carry out these acts with impunity.

“This act of intimidation and extortion of commercial bus and lorry drivers and the humiliation of civilian passengers on these checkpoints is alarming.”

The group said civilian passengers are sometimes humiliated and asked to get down from their vehicles and trek some distance.

It said, “In some of these checkpoints they go a long way to order civilian passengers to raise their two hands while trekking to cross the checkpoint which is a sign of surrender, while motorcyclists are ordered to roll their motorcycle to cross the checkpoint.

“Another act is the arbitrary search of some passengers’ phones without a search warrant, even when these persons are not under arrest.

“In view of the above, we wish to state that this action contravenes Section 34, and Section 217(2)(C) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as Amended 2018.”

The INC stated that from their study, they discovered that many citizens and community persons in these localities find it extremely difficult to properly relate and share vital intelligence with the security operatives.

In its requests, the INC said, “We request that the Defence Headquarters set up a Taskforce or Monitoring Team to investigate and monitor the activities of the various Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoints and Outposts located in the South-East Region of Nigeria.

“We request for the arrest and prosecution of any Security Operatives at Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoints found and violating the Fundamental Human Rights of Citizens or found forcefully extorting money from commercial bus drivers.

“We request that Security Operatives serving at Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoint or Outposts in South-East Region focus more on intelligence gathering, surveillance and tactical operations in other to combat criminalities and provide effective security for the protection of lives and properties of the people in that locality more especially now there are increasing activities of banditry and kidnappings in the region.

“We request the stoppage of the forceful extortion of commercial bus drivers, the humiliation of civilian passengers and searching of individual phones without search warrant at some of these Joint Task Force/Military Checkpoints in the South-East Region of Nigeria.

“We are aware that the South East Region of Nigeria is not a conquered territory and is not at war with the Nigerian State and therefore should not be subjected to any form of inhumane treatment or humiliation by the Nigeria Military.”

The group listed the 90 checkpoints where people are harassed by the military and Joint Task Force as follows:

Going by the recent happenings. I would like to appeal to my people, Ndi-Igbo muru Nze muo Ozo to avoid anything Ikwerre.

Ndi-Igbo Worldwide should avoid the four (4) Minority Local governments that made up Ikwerre.
According to them, they said they were 4 local governments although They Shared Port Harcourt City PHALGA with Okrika. And I believe in the Future Port Harcourt City would be a (Two-State Capital of Ijaws and Ikwerre/Benins descendants).

Igbos should understand that it's on record Ikwerres are known as betrayals, backstabbers, property grabbers and two faced Individuals.

Ikwerre Man has nothing to offer Igboland. Therefore, discussing their matters and mentioning them makes them feel important.

It's on record that Igbos NEVER invaded nor dragged Ikwerreland nor asked them to be Igbo. Invariably they are the ones denying not being Igbo. I don't know Why They keep explaining to every Tom, Dick and Harry that they're not Igbo and they'll explain Taya. Nobody asked them to be Igbo.

I've told Ndi-Igbo Worldwide to forget about these people, and As for me, Ikwerre does not exist and I don't care where they come from, who they are, what they are and what they intend to be.

Important Note:- Majority of Nigerians Especially the Yorubas/ Benin and Hausa Fulani think whenever Igbos mentioned or seen Ikwerre as Igbo, they believe it's about Oil Wells and Access to Seaport, but I want to shock them that Ikwerreland does not have Oil producing communities like Etche, Obigbo etc.
Ikwerreland does not have Access to the Sea. There is nothing Ikwerre Man has in stock for Igbo Man.

OhanaEze Ndi-Igbo should respect themselves and the repetition of this Nonsense called zoning of OhanaEze Ndi-Igbo President General to Rivers State should NEVER repeat itself again.

The Traditional Rulers in Igboland should wake up, IPOB should wake up and sit-up. All the Pressure groups in Igboland should be active, Opinion Leaders and the Corrupt useless Governors in the Southeast should use their teeth and count their tongue.

(** We don't want another type of Gaza neighborhood near Igboland**)

These people said they are not Igbo and that should be the end of the discussion. I don't know Why my people have time for these people. I can't imagine myself wasting my time with a group of people ( by Per capital) can't stand an apprentice in Nnewi.

What is happening to my people? However, any family member that chooses to be an outcast should be discarded.

Although, I understand how painful and embarrassing it is that, A Chukwuemeka in Elele, Rivers State will be telling Another Chukwuemeka in Owerri Imo State that The Chukwuemeka in Rivers is not Igbo.

But That's their choice and their pattern of showcasing illiteracy. I will advise them to run AncestryDNA test and Show the Result to the World.

Therefore, We Should

Avoid Bringing Ikwerre into Igbo Affairs. Igboland has over 108 Local governments from Ignanke, Edo State to Isobo, Cross River State. From Etche/Obigbo to Indigenous Igbo communities in Benue and Kogi States. And from Nsukka to the Countryhome of King Jaja in Opobo. Igbos are over 60 million within the geographical area called Nigeria. And Igbos in the diaspora are in over 10 million.

We should stop this madness of bringing up the issue of 3 or 4 local governments minority topics into our Affairs.

In the future, there will be Barricades, Fences along the Igboland and Ikwerre area. The 4 local governments should be isolated from every boundary with the Igbos.

For the fact that Nigerian Federation dislikes a particular section of its territory, The Country called Nigeria Wil NEVER move forward.

This is Angola.

This is what a country that wants to survive after civil war DOES.

Angola fought a civil war that lasted several years and today they have rebuilt thousands of Houses in all the Provinces.

But in Nigeria, nothing was done to reconstruct those Cities and Villages destroyed in Igboland by The Nigerian government and her allies from Britain and the Soviet Union.

Instead, they stole all the monies Igbos had in the Banks through the Tactical thieving advisory of Awolowo The Father of Treachery and Betrayal.
Even till today, they are still using the same tactics against the Igbos. But One thing is sure, Wickedness can NEVER produce anything good. The more they plot evil against the Igbos, the more the Country goes down.

How could such a Country survive?
No way, To Your Tents O' Israel.

Just take a proper look at the thousands of massing Housing projects that were constructed in all the provinces in Angola. If it were in Nigeria, they would exclude Igbo Territories even when a larger part of the resources is coming from there.

The Nigerian government should allow the country to dissolve peacefully.

BIAFRAN YOUTHS SHOULD SHUN THE BRITISH ARMY RECRUITMENT-IPOB

The attention of the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by the great and resolute leader, Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu warns Biafran youths to shun the deceptive move by the British Government to recruit them among the Commonwealth citizens to join their Army to fight their future wars. IPOB is calling on Biafran youths to avoid being used as sacrificial lambs by the British government, which has no respect for you or your lives.

The British government has commenced the recruitment of Africans to fight their wars as they did decades ago. During WW1, the British and the European countries used Africans to fight their wars. By November 1918, the ‘British Army’ in East Africa was mainly composed of African soldiers. One of the units was the West African Frontier Force, consisting of soldiers drawn from Nigeria, especially Igbos and South Easterns, others from the Southern Nigeria, the Gold Coast (Ghana), and Sierra Leone. Another unit was called the King’s African Rifles, recruited from Kenya, Uganda, and Nyasaland (Malawi). Over 180,000 Africans served in the British Carrier Corps. Thousands of these African soldiers who died in defense of Britain were never recognized. At the same time, those of them who survived the war were sent back to Africa without compensation, whereas their British and other counterparts were adequately compensated and recognized after the war.

Similarly, during the 1939 - 1945 WWII, thousands of Africans were recruited and sacrificed for Britain to become a superpower. The ongoing plan to recruit Africans again, especially Biafrans, to be sacrificed for the colonial imperialist will not work.

The people of Biafran will never be sacrificed for those who don't recognise us as human beings. We can confidently understand that our fathers told us that they fought to save the United Kingdom during the second world war but were abandoned by the British Government. Instead of compensating our fathers that fought for them, Britain supported the Nigerian government to commit the unprecedented genocide against Biafrans during the 1967 -1970 war.
Biafrans should not allow themselves to be recruited to fight for a selfish and treacherous imperialist country who showed us that they hate us.

Therefore, any African who falls for this string gift to join the British Army should remember that they will meet the fate that our fathers met when they fought for Britain. Those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it and become the victims of history.

IPOB is warning Biafrans to shun the ongoing British military recruitment. They don't mind that they said its commonwealth countries. They are targeting the Biafrans, and we must be very careful. If Britain can have a very strict visa policy for African immigrants, why then do they have a very relaxed and easy application to join the British Army? If Africans do not find it easy to migrate to Britain with a work visa, there are no bases to give Africans a flexible visa to join the British Army. Biafrans should not allow themselves to be slaughtered for a nation that doesn't care about their freedom or existence. The British Government contributed and spearheaded the Biafran genocide and the continuous subjugation of Biafrans in Nigeria. Also, the rate of unemployment in Nigeria, which Britain is anchoring to recruit their sacrificial lambs, is largely contributed by the exploitative foreign policies of Britain in Nigeria. Africans, particularly Biafrans, should not volunteer to go and die for the subjugator and colonizer, but if you fail to adhere to IPOB's advice, you will regret it.

IPOB will not allow Biafrans to be used again by Britain through the commonwealth channels to recruit soldiers to war against Russia or any other country. Biafrans can not be sacrificed for Britain to be a superpower anymore. African countries must understand that the British government is preparing to war with Russia and should recruit and deploy their citizens to defend their own country. IPOB will not take it kindly with anyone or group promoting for Biafrans to join the British ongoing military recruitment, whether online or off.

We, therefore, call on the Biafran parents to advise their children against joining the British military recruitment. Also, the Biafran youths should be wise not to join your oppressor's Army for citizenship or monetary rewards. Do not be a sacrificial lamb for your oppressors. Instead, join hands with IPOB to restore the Biafra we can all be proud of. If the United Kingdom is serious for Biafrans to join them, they must realise that Biafra needs to exit Nigeria peacefully, democratically become free, and obtain the release of Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, who is currently languishinging in the DSS solitary confinement in Abuja, Nigeria.

VDM, You have been to the Police department and detention more than 4 times in the last 6 months of this year (2024) alone. It all happened based on allegations and petitions against You by a few individuals. That doesn't mean whatever they are accused of You were right? It was a mere allegation.

So, Why have you chosen to be a nuuisannce on social media? because You sent a petition against Blord Linus William and He was invited to the Police department and since then Heaven has losen on your side.

Why have you been ma********ng all over the Social media because Police paid attention to your petition? And Invited Blord William Linus? And You think You have achieved what your father couldn't have achieved in his life? Fame?

I want to inform you that: I could remember When we were very much younger. We heard about people like you used by the Authorities to harass and snitch on private citizens in the past. And Today, the majority of them are no more available. And Your time ticks.

However, if at all You are serious about being an Activist. Why not Go after those politicians their cases are widely known even to the blind? I mean those active and inactive politicians that Police/ EFCC/ ICPC have refused and compromised to invite nor arrest?

*Stop snitching on Individuals that worked day and night for their penny because they were not the Politicians that frittered away the commonwealth of the Nigerian people.
*Stop envying Individuals that have worked so hard and employed Nigerians of which your Father and the failed Nigerian government could not employ.

ANIOMA STATE: Best Alternative for Ndigbo

The debate surrounding the creation of new states in Nigeria is not new. For decades, marginalized regions have called for equitable management and distribution of resources to enhance the welfare of their people. The call for Anioma State, championed by Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North’s senatorial district, is a compelling proposal that seeks to address historical imbalances and promote fair representation, especially for the Southeast geopolitical zone.

Historically, the demand for Anioma State dates back to the 1950s, initiated by the people of Aboh and Asaba (Aniocha, Oshimili, and Ika) divisions in the Western Regional House of Assembly. This long-standing agitation underscores the deep-rooted desire for recognition and self-determination among the Anioma people. The creation of the Anioma State would not only honor this historical pursuit but also ensure the preservation and promotion of the unique cultural heritage of the Anioma people.

Throughout history, the Anioma people have consistently demonstrated resilience and unity in their quest for statehood. Their cultural festivals, such as the Iwa Ji (New Yam Festival) and the Igba Nkwu (Traditional Marriage Ceremony), reflect the rich traditions that bind the community together. Establishing the Anioma State would provide a platform for these cultural practices to thrive and gain national recognition, fostering a sense of pride and identity among the Anioma people.

Nigeria’s current geopolitical structure is imbalanced, with the South East having only five states compared to other zones with six or more states. This disparity affects legislative representation and resource allocation, disadvantaging the South East. Senator Nwoko’s proposal for Anioma State aims to correct this imbalance by adding a sixth state to the South East, thus ensuring fairer representation in the Senate and a more equitable distribution of national resources.

The creation of Anioma State would enhance the Southeast’s political influence, ensuring that the region’s interests are adequately represented at the federal level. This adjustment would help to rectify historical oversights and promote a more balanced federation, ultimately strengthening Nigeria’s democratic foundations. The proposed Anioma State boasts significant economic potential.

Comprising nine local government areas, six of which are rich in oil and gas resources, the proposed state is well-positioned for economic viability. Additionally, the region’s abundant human capital further enhances its potential for sustainable development. By redistributing resources to accommodate Anioma’s needs, the new state could stimulate economic growth, infrastructure development, and improved public services, benefiting not only Anioma but also neighboring regions.

The strategic location of the proposed Anioma State offers opportunities for trade and investment, particularly in agriculture, commerce, and tourism. The fertile land is ideal for large-scale farming, which could boost food production and create jobs. Furthermore, the development of infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and power supply would facilitate economic activities and attract investors, leading to increased revenue generation for the state.

The creation of Anioma State would lead to shifts in political power and representation at both state and federal levels. This reconfiguration could balance political influence in the surrounding zones, fostering a more inclusive and representative political landscape. Senator Nwoko emphasizes that this proposal is about ensuring fair representation and resource allocation for the Southeast, addressing a longstanding geopolitical oversight.

With the proposed Anioma State, the Southeast would gain an additional voice in the Senate, enhancing its ability to advocate for policies and projects that benefit the region. This increased representation would also enable the South East to play a more significant role in national decision-making processes, promoting greater inclusivity and equity in governance.

Anioma State would influence socio-cultural interactions and relationships, strengthening the bonds within the South East and promoting unity among the Igbo people. The Anioma socio-cultural group, Izu Anioma, and the Pan Igbo cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, have been vocal advocates for this cause, highlighting its cultural and social significance. The creation of Anioma State would foster a sense of identity and belonging among its people, contributing to the overall cultural cohesion of the region.

The establishment of Anioma State would also facilitate cultural exchange and cooperation between the Anioma people and other ethnic groups within the South East. This interaction would promote mutual understanding and respect, reinforcing the social fabric of the region and enhancing national unity.

Despite the compelling arguments for Anioma State, some opposition exists, primarily from the Ukwuani people, one of the nine local government areas in Delta North. The Ukwuani, under the aegis of VOTAbanum, have expressed a preference for aligning with the Urhobo, Isoko, and Itsekiri ethnic nationalities rather than Aniocha and Oshimili.

This opposition, however, represents a minority view within the broader Anioma region. Critics argue that the creation of Anioma State could disrupt existing political and economic dynamics. However, these concerns can be addressed through inclusive dialogue and collaborative planning. Senator Nwoko’s initiative involves extensive consultation and consensus-building with stakeholders, ensuring that all voices are heard and concerns are addressed.

The proposal for Orlu State, another suggested addition to the Southeast, involves subdividing existing Igbo states. This approach could create further fragmentation and may not garner broad support. In contrast, Anioma State, coming from a different part outside of the existing South East, would add to the Igbo and South East without subdividing existing states. This strategy is more acceptable as it expands the Southeast’s representation and influence without internal divisions.

Discussions with Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, a major proponent of Orlu State, reveal that there is a lack of widespread support for this proposal. Even communities in Anambra, close to Orlu, have expressed opposition, highlighting the absence of consultation and consensus. In contrast, Anioma State enjoys broader support and aligns with the strategic interests of the South East.

Hon. Ugochinyere acknowledged the challenges in promoting Orlu State, noting that the lack of grassroots support and external influences have hindered its progress. This admission underscores the need for a more unifying and widely accepted proposal, such as Anioma State, which has garnered significant backing from various stakeholders within the Southeast.

The mainstream Ohaneze Ndigbo, led by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, should adopt the proposed Anioma State as the best option for the Igbo people. By bringing together all stakeholders, including local communities, traditional leaders, and political representatives, a unified approach can be developed. This collective effort would demonstrate the Igbo people’s commitment to equitable representation and resource distribution.

Opposition to Anioma State appears to be politically motivated, potentially funded by political opponents of Senator Nwoko. It is essential to recognize that these dissenting voices represent a small minority. The broader consensus within the Anioma region and the Southeast supports the creation of Anioma State as a viable and sustainable solution.

Engaging with the Ukwuani and addressing their concerns through dialogue and collaboration can mitigate opposition. Highlighting the shared benefits of Anioma State, such as improved infrastructure, economic opportunities, and enhanced political representation, can foster a sense of inclusion and cooperation among all ethnic groups in the region.

Nigeria’s geopolitical structure requires careful consideration and decision-making to address longstanding imbalances and promote equitable development. The creation of Anioma State, championed by Senator Ned Nwoko, represents a strategic and well-considered proposal that addresses historical grievances, promotes fair representation, and stimulates economic growth.

The proposed Anioma State is not just an addition to the map; it is a step towards equitable development and resource distribution for the Igbo people and the South East. By supporting this proposal, President Bola Tinubu can make history and leave a lasting legacy of promoting justice, equity, and progress for all Nigerians. The time to act is now, and the creation of Anioma State is both urgent and compelling.

One of the most important aspects of the Anioma State proposal is its potential to correct the historical marginalization of the Anioma people. For decades, the Anioma people have faced neglect in terms of development and representation, which has hindered their ability to fully participate in the socioeconomic and political affairs of the country. The creation of Anioma State would serve as a form of restitution, acknowledging past injustices and paving the way for a more inclusive and balanced federation.

The Anioma people, with their rich cultural heritage and history of resilience, have contributed significantly to the development of Nigeria. Yet, their contributions have often been overlooked due to their minority status within the larger Delta State. By granting them their state, Nigeria would be recognizing and honoring their unique identity and ensuring that their voices are heard in the national discourse.

Furthermore, the economic potential of Anioma State cannot be overstated. The region is rich in natural resources, including oil and gas, which could provide a solid foundation for economic growth and development. Additionally, the fertile land and favorable climate make it ideal for agriculture, which could further boost the state’s economy. With proper management and investment, Anioma State could become a major economic hub, attracting businesses and investors, creating jobs, and improving the standard of living for its residents.

The strategic location of Anioma State also offers significant advantages. Positioned as a gateway between the Southeast and South-South regions, Anioma State could facilitate trade and commerce, fostering economic integration and cooperation between these regions. This could lead to the development of new markets and the expansion of existing ones, benefiting not only Anioma State but also its neighboring states and the country as a whole.

In terms of political representation, the creation of Anioma State would address the current imbalance in the South East, which has only five states compared to other regions with six or more states. This disparity has led to underrepresentation of the South East in national politics, affecting their ability to influence policy decisions and advocate for their interests. By adding Anioma State, the South East would gain additional seats in the Senate and House of Representatives, enhancing its political clout and ensuring that the region’s interests are more effectively represented at the federal level.

The creation of Anioma State would also promote social cohesion and unity within the South East. By recognizing and celebrating the unique identity of the Anioma people, Nigeria would be fostering a sense of pride and belonging among its citizens. This could lead to greater cooperation and solidarity among the various ethnic groups in the South East, strengthening the region’s social fabric and promoting peace and stability.

However, the proposal for Anioma State is not without its challenges. Some opposition exists, particularly from the Ukwuani people, who have expressed a preference for aligning with other ethnic nationalities. Addressing these concerns through inclusive dialogue and consensus-building is crucial to ensuring that the creation of Anioma State is a unifying rather than divisive move. Senator Nwoko’s approach of extensive consultation and collaboration with stakeholders is a positive step in this direction, demonstrating a commitment to addressing the concerns of all affected parties.

In conclusion, the creation of Anioma State represents a strategic and well-considered proposal that addresses historical grievances, promotes fair representation, and stimulates economic growth. It is a step towards equitable development and resource distribution for the Igbo people and the South East, recognizing and honoring their unique identity and contributions to the nation. By supporting this proposal, Nigeria can promote justice, equity, and progress for all its citizens, leaving a lasting legacy of inclusivity and balanced development. The time to act is now, and the creation of Anioma State is both urgent and compelling.
