On Friday afternoon, President William Ruto made a historic announcement, confirming Rebecca Miano's nomination as Kenya's first female Attorney General. This nomination marks a significant milestone in Kenya's history, signalling progress towards gender equality in the highest legal office of the nation. Rebecca Miano's appointment is expected to inspire and pave the way for more women to assume similar leadership roles.

Rebecca holds multiple accolades, including a rank on the list of the list of the Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa and being named Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) in recognition of her outstanding service to the nation.

A registered and certified public secretary of Kenya who attained a fellowship status (FCS) from the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK). She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, a diploma in law, and post-graduate studies in comparative law.

In 2010, she completed the Advanced Management Programme at Strathmore University and is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). Her commitment to education is evident through her role as a member of St. Paul’s University Council.
