CELEBRATING THE TRUE TORCHBEARERS OF GUSII & EXPOSING THE BETRAYERS
In every defining moment of a community’s history, there are those who rise to the occasion, and there are those who sell their soul to the highest bidder.
Today, we salute and appreciate the leaders who have chosen to stand shoulder to shoulder with Dr. Fred Matiang’i in his mission to bring dignity, unity, and progress to the Omogusii people. These are men and women who understand that leadership is not about personal gain but about lifting the lives of the people they represent.
We celebrate: Prof. Sam Ongeri, CS Ezekiel Machogu, Amb. Chris Obure, Omingo Magara, Sen. Richard Onyonka, Sen. Okong’o Omogeni, Hon. Joash Nyamoko, Hon. Anthony Kibagendi, Hon. Clive Gisairo, Hon. Obadiah Barongo, Hon. Patrick Osero, Hon. Samuel Arama, Hon. Gloria Orwoba, Hon. Jimmy Nuru, Hon.Tongi, Hon. Onchoke Bonchari, Hon. Innocent Obiri, Hon. Dan Manduku, Gov. Amos Nyaribo, Hon. Janet Ongera and Hon. Timothy Bosire. These leaders carry the aspirations of our people and are steadfast in defending our collective future.
But we can not shy away from calling out those who have turned their backs on unity, choosing instead to be willing tools in the hands of forces that seek to weaken and divide our community.
We condemn: Hon. Jerusha Mogaka, Hon. Irene Mayaka, Hon. Japhet Nyakundi, Hon. Silvanus Osoro, Hon. Alfa Miruka, Hon. Zaheer Jhanda, Hon. Donya Doris, Governor Simba Arati, and Hon. Steve Mogaka. History will remember them, not for what they built, but for what they destroyed through betrayal and selfish ambition.
We also take a moment to honor the memory of the great leaders who, if they were alive today, would have stood firmly with the unity cause: Hon. Simeon Nyachae, George Moseti Anyona, Henry Onyancha Obwocha, Zachary Onyonka, Gov.John Nyagarama and Hon. Zedekiah Opore. These were true sons and daughters of Gusii who put the community’s interest above personal gain.
The choice before us is clear. Stand with the visionaries who put people first or be counted among those who sold their people’s future for fleeting political favors. The time to choose unity over betrayal is now.
