13th May 2013 Swaziland bans witches flying over 150 meters – Witches flying broomsticks in Swaziland above 150m will be subjected to arrest and a hefty fine of R500 000, civil aviation authorities say, according to a report. Witches' broomsticks are considered similar to any heavier-than-air transportation device that is airborne, The Aviation authority remarked.

"A witch on a broomstick should not fly above the [150m] limit," Civil Aviation Authority marketing and corporate affairs director Sabelo Dlamini was quoted as saying. No penalties exist for witches flying below 150m.

Ali Hassan Mwinyi was born on 8th May 1925, in Kivure, Pwani Region, Tanganyika. Mwinyi went on to become the second president of Tanzania (1985-1995). Mwinyi passed away on February 29, 2024 at the age of 98.
