# "Social media a gold mine for scammer"
Social media permeates the lives of many people – we use it to stay in touch, make new friends, shop, and have fun. But reports show that social media is also increasingly where scammers go to con us. More than one in four people who reported losing money to fraud in 2021 said it started on social media with an ad, a post, or a messages
In fact, the data suggest that social media was far more profitable to scammers in 2021 than any other method of reaching people.
For scammers, there’s a lot to like about social media. It’s a low-cost way to reach billions of people from anywhere in the world. It’s easy to manufacture a fake persona, or scammers can hack into an existing profile to get “friends” to con. There’s the ability to fine-tune their approach by studying the personal details people share on social media. In fact, scammers could easily use the tools available to advertisers on social media platforms to systematically target people with bogus ads based on personal details such as their age, interests, or past purchases.Reports make clear that social media is a tool for scammers in investment scams, particularly those involving bogus cryptocurrency investments — an area that has seen a massive surge in reports.[5] More than half of people who reported losses to investment scams in said the scam started on social media

#जालंधर NIT ने असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर को किया टर्मिनेट
पंजाब के जालंधर एनआईटी में एमबीए करने वाली # छात्राओं ने असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर पर छात्राओं के साथ यौन उत्पीड़न करने के मामले में शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी. एनआईटी की आंतरिक जांच कमेटी ने जांच के बाद असिस्टेंट प्रोफेसर को टर्मिनेट किया है. फिलहाल पुलिस इस मामले में जांच कर रही है.

टीवी इंडस्ट्री से दुखद खबर सामने आ रही है। सीआईडी में फ्रेडरिक्स का किरदार निभाने के लिए मशहूर दिनेश फडनीस का निधन हो चुका है। वो कल रात से ही वेंटिलेटर सपोर्ट पर थे और लगभग 12 बजे के करीब उनकी मौत हो गई।

आंध्र रेल हादसे (Andhra Train Accident) में मरनेवालों की संख्‍या 13 हो गई है. इस ट्रेन एक्‍सीडेंट में 50 लोग घायल भी हुए हैं. आखिर इस हादसे की वजह क्‍या रही? पूर्वी तटीय रेलवे ने रविवार को कहा कि आंध्र प्रदेश के विजयनगरम जिले में दो ट्रेन की टक्कर संभवत: मानवीय भूल के कारण हुई होगी. अधिकारियों के अनुसार, रविवार शाम विशाखापत्तनम-पलासा पैसेंजर ट्रेन और विशाखापत्तनम-रायगढ़ा पैसेंजर स्पेशल ट्रेन की टक्कर हुई. हादसे के कारण इस रूट की कई ट्रेनें प्रभावित हुई हैं.

जालंधर थिंड आई अस्पताल के डाक्टरों पर लापरवाही का आरोप लगाते हुए लोगों ने अस्पताल के सामने जमकर नारेबाजी और धरना प्रदर्शन किया। प्रदर्शनकारियों का आरोप है कि डाक्टरों की लापरवाही के कारण महिला की आंख की रोशनी चली गई।
