🇯🇵🇺🇸 Japanese pharmaceutical company Kyowa Kirin Co., Ltd. announced plans to invest up to $530 million to build its first North American manufacturing facility in Lee County, North Carolina.

The announcement follows the company’s earlier decision to invest $200 million in a plant in Sanford, which is expected to create over 102 jobs in the region.

Sanford Area Growth Alliance Chief Executive Jimmy Randolph said they continue to see a significant amount of interest from various life sciences projects in Lee County.
