The QueenBee Autumn 2021 Harmony issue is now LIVE! A little later than planned, but it’s here and we’re glad it’s coincided with this Autumnal weather! 🌧 🍂 You can read it here https://bit.ly/QueenBeeHarmony
.
A huge thank you to all of our supporters, contributors and advertisers that have helped us get through the last 18 months 💕
.
So, why harmony as a theme? To live in harmony is the idea that people can experience inner peace despite chaotic circumstances, negative emotions or difficult times. Very apt after such a difficult 18 months!
.
We all want harmony, balance and peace... peace is the hope of every nation, the promise of every politician and the pulse of every religious tradition.
.
How can we live in peace and harmony? Firstly, take time for just you, every day. Make it a requirement. Live life more deliberately in the moment. Stop analysing your past and worrying about your future and make choices and decisions that feel good.
.
I really hope you enjoy this issue of QueenBee and that you have a harmonious, happy and peaceful Autumn 🍂

Is it time to start thinking about (dare we say it) going out and socialising again? All being well and keeping fingers and toes firmly crossed, the "rule of six" will be reintroduced on March 29th, which will allow six people from up to six different households to meet outdoors, not only in public spaces but also in private gardens. Two households will also be allowed to meet outside. This would mean that those long-awaited outdoor family get-togethers can happen by Easter Sunday 🐣
From that date, it will no longer be a legal requirement to stay at home. Hoo-bloody-ray! This means it will be possible to travel beyond your local area to meet a friend or relative outdoors 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
And when step two of the roadmap plan is implemented, no sooner than April 12, it will be possible to meet outdoors at pubs and restaurants under the same "rule of six" or two household rules. From that date, the limit on the maximum number of attendees at weddings and wakes will rise from six to 15 💒
With all this in mind, is it time to re-visit your makeup bags and treat yourselves to some new products ladies? We think so!

The QueenBee cover design is usually the last piece of the puzzle when putting the magazine together. After laying out the pages and reading all the articles, we have more of a feel as to what the cover needs to portray. For the ‘Hope’ Spring issue, we wanted the whole issue to be bright, inspiring, spring-like and ‘happy’ - I think we achieved just that! 🌸
.
The spring colours of the abstract background, the combination of fonts and the popping pink flower really work together. What do you think?
.
So, what about the rest of the magazine? As Publishing Editor and designer I’m often asked how each issue is put together, so thought I’d talk you through the stages. Firstly, a theme is decided (over the last year we’ve had HOPE, RESET, CHANGE and BLOSSOM). We contact our lovely QueenBee feature writers, giving them the theme and copy deadline. Then the real work starts - designing the pages and any new advertisements, proof-reading, sharing the visuals and getting sign-off - any blank pages are made into beautiful, inspirational quotes. 👍🏻
.
A final check through and then the PDF files are created and uploaded. Web/shopping links and embedded videos are added and then we hit the GO LIVE button! I always get a bit of a nervous rush at this point, followed by huge relief and maybe a glass of wine. 😅
.
The work doesn’t stop there though! Each issue is shared across our digital platforms and we have to make sure we are keeping on top of advertisement enquiries, colabs and press releases.
.
When the pandemic hit we weren’t sure how we’d be able to carry on. Luckily, we adapted and diversified and despite lockdown, QueenBee is going from strength to strength. The pandemic encouraged us into a new digital direction and we are LOVING it. 💕

Spring 2021
Design is well underway for the 'Hope' Spring 2021 issue of QueenBee so we thought we'd share this lovely blossom to brighten your day. It's certainly filling us with anticipation for warmer days, open windows and birdsong. Spring is the time of year when everything in nature is changing, promising new life and new hope, something we all need right now! Although the pandemic will probably continue to be a major factor in 2021, Spring will literally be a breath of fresh air as seeds take root, vegetation begins to grow and the days become longer, inviting fresh starts, optimism and HOPE 🌷
