In the last few issues of Bird Watching, our own Mike Weedon has talked about the disturbing decline in Chaffinch numbers in many parts of the UK, especially in urban and suburban areas. Along with Finches Friend, we're going to be looking at what you can do to help stop the spread of diseases that are affecting them.
Watch this video with former Springwatch presenter Martin Hughes-Games, take a look at https://www.finchesfriend.com, and go to members.birdwatching.co.uk or download our app to read more about what YOU can do.
Sometimes, it's best to stop moving and let the birds come to you.
Windy day up on Burrough Hill, so apologies for the noise.
We've been out and about this week, looking for late spring migrants, listening for birdsong, and discovering a few new birding sites. What have you been up to?
Editor Matt Merritt went for a walk near the office on the way home last night - can you identify the bird singing behind him?
A couple of weeks ago, we were up in the Scottish Highlands with one of our regular Bird Watching Readers' Holidays, based at the Grant Arms Hotel, Grantown-on-Spey.
Highlights included a day over at the west coast. Here we are at Gruinard Bay, looking over to Gruinard itself, where highlights included Great Northern and Red-throated Divers in winter and summer plumages (and everything in between), Black Guillemot, Hen Harrier, and White-tailed Eagles.

This time last week, we were up at the Grant Arms, Grantown-on-Spey, enjoying our spring readers' holiday.
The weather was great, so we saw a lot of eagles, both Golden and White-tailed, as well as a full set of divers (Red-throated, Black-throated, Great Northern and White-billed) on the Moray and west coasts.
But a highlight, as ever, was watching Black Grouse lek - no females on display, but some very active and noisy males, here shown digiscoped using a handheld mobile phone.
