Inside Our Autistic Minds triumphed at the Grierson Awards! It won in the category The Open University Best Science Documentary.

Congrats to the amazing team made up of Amanda Lyon, Joe Myerscough, Emma Jones, Shiva Talwar, Nick Ransom, Eloise Millard

The judges said:

“This beautiful and innovative documentary was described by the jury as totally enriching. Its insightful presenter and touching human stories alongside its exploration of the science of autism felt as though the documentary was exploring areas where others had not yet gone. The jury felt this film, illuminating and interesting throughout, had real potential to change lives.”

It was a real honour to have worked on this series.

‘Inside our Autistic Minds’ was created to promote a wider understanding of what it's like to be autistic to a neurotypical audience. This two-part series looks at the adult autistic experience, told by four people brave enough to share their stories with the nation.

As of this morning George Ezra’s End to End is available to watch on Amazon Prime! I worked on this after the COVID lockdowns of 2020 and 2021.

I followed George from Lands End up to Manchester, dropping in on him, Adam and Christie for a day or so every few weeks.

It was such an honour to record George sing and play guitar on location. He was probably the nicest person I’ve worked with which made it all the more of a pleasure.

If you only do one thing this weekend, spend it watching End to End.

It’s definitely in my top three projects of all time.

It’s also the second time in 3 months that a project I’ve worked on has had the front page of Amazon Prime!!!

We recorded interviews with the composers, lyricists and singers who have cultivated the signature sound of James Bond over the last 60 years, from Monty Norman to Billie Eilish, David Arnold to Duran Duran and many others.

The core sound team was made up of: Jonny Horne, Simon Norman, Francesco Corazzi and Christian Wells.

It was an absolute joy to work on this project last year and have the opportunity to record George playing his hits on acoustic guitar in some amazing locations. He and his friends walked and camped their way from Lands End to John O’Groats while we dropped in occasionally. Catch it in cinemas.

It’s been a busy week with crew working with a YouTuber, on a pharmaceutical company’s live stream, a behind the scenes at a gig, a how to video for a big tech brand and a week long factual entertainment show that we wrap on next week. We also spent two days at the beautiful in Park Royal, west London, 👌 stunning state of the art facilities and lovely staff.

We use rechargeables on all our shoots because otherwise, it’s a lot of batteries to throw away at the end of each day… and that’s not good for the world.

All our kit either uses AA, NP1 or use internal rechargeable cells.

The below pic is from one live stream that used 11 IEMs, 2x TXs and 4 radios. That’s almost 40 batteries. On longer days that require a battery change we could be looking at up to 80.

When our rechargeables a reach the end of their life we recycle them. Although, if well looked after, some can last years. We have some NP1 batteries that are almost 10 years old and still going strong. 💪
