Background
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. Using a protection of human rights framework, DRC has mainly focused on Somalis who are displaced by conflict. Programs include protection, Food security & Livelihoods, shelter/NFI, and water and sanitation. In Somalia, DRC Operates in five several regions and set up an operation in Dollow on October 2012. . There are also non-operational region wide initiatives, focusing on advocacy and capacity building which are supported from the Nairobi regional office.
Purpose
The Livelihood Assistant will be based in Dollow/Luuq with regular visits to all field/site locations. As part of the implementation of food security and livelihood activities under the OFDA project, the staff will monitor all aspects of project implementation, including community mobilization, identify and selection of beneficiaries, training project beneficiaries, M&E, documentation, standardization, in compliance with DRC and donor’s policies and procedures. The staff will consult closely at all times with his/her supervisor and Livelihood Coordinator and Area Manager.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist project officers in the implementation of livelihoods interventions for DRC Dollow
· Fully participate implementation income generation, agriculture, and micro enterprises development activities.
· Participate in developing work plans and attend meetings.
· Ensure that proper sensitization and awareness amongst beneficiaries ensuring all project procedures and policies of project implementation are followed
· Prepare and submit regular weekly updates, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting to Project Officer as per agreed format.
· Participate in distribution activities for at the project sites
· Provide advice and facilitate training of target beneficiaries.
· Liaise with the community leaders in identifying target groups for DRC livelihood activities in urban, peri urban and IDPs settlements
· Assist or empower the community to enable them to manage their issue by themselves and be able to sustain projects
· Establish community participation in project implementation taking in to consideration issue regarding gender, age and clan affiliation
· Regular monitor OFDA activities implementation and report to the project Officer
Coordinate and facilitate the needs assessment survey of IDPs and urban poor areas in collaboration with other staff, INGO or government.
Any other duties as requested by supervisor.
Reporting Arrangements
This position will report to the project Officer in Dollow.
General

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENT
Essential:
Diploma or University degree in Social Science, Business Administration, Agriculture, Community Development, or any other relevant field of education.
Minimum of two years working experience in livelihoods, community development, and/or community mobilization.
Experience working with Non-Governmental organizations, UN agencies and local communities
Good command in English-spoken and written
Good communication skills and ability to conduct training
Good Computer skills, organizational and people centered management skills
Ability to represent the organization in key meetings.
Good communicator in working with local communities, local NGOs and local authorities Qualification and working experience in income generation, agriculture, and micro enterprises development.
Preferable:
Good negotiator in working with local NGOs and local authorities
Social science, agriculture, livestock or rural development graduate or with years of experience
Experience in livelihoods, micro enterprise, agriculture, or livestock management project
Ability to speak and write Somali Language

Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, the incumbent will provide overall administrative program support to the Program Monitoring & Evaluation unit by performing a variety of tasks related to information gathering, monitoring, recording and reporting. The successful candidates will be offered a Fixed Term Appointment for one year. Further extensions will be based on organizational needs, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
Key Expected Results

Assist in the compilation, preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly/semi annually and annual program reviews, and follow up on reporting deadlines. Assist in updating PME QZIP on quarterly basis. Compile and produce integrated travel plan of the office at the beginning of each month.
Organizes data and information, prepares and maintains records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project/program implementation. Contributes to the preparation of reports, project documents and submissions to governments by providing information, preparing tables and drafting relatively routine sections. Prepares background information for use in discussions with governments and other organization.
Review all office trip reports and related documents by section and submit their summary for presentation at the monthly management meetings.
Collect, register and maintain records and reports and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports pertaining to the different sectors of the program. Organize data and information, prepare and maintain records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project/program implementation.
Responsible for the organization of workshops, seminars and other training events including PM&E unit.
May be required to carry out specific administrative operational/control tasks for project/program activities. Performs typing and filing functions, in support of functional area of assignment.

Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in a relevant field (statistics, applied research, data management).Qualifications of Successful Candidate

FIELD SUPERVISOR
The Somalia Program Support Services (SPSS) program implemented by
International Business and Technical Consultants Incorporated (IBTCI) is
seeking a field based supervisor in Mogadishu to provide direct field oversight
and coordination of Monitoring, Verification and Reporting activities.
The primary goal of SPSS is to provide ongoing monitoring, verification and
evaluation support to the USAID/East Africa/Somalia Office that will assist
USAID in meeting program objectives in Somalia.
Working closely with contracted third-party monitoring (TPM) organization the
Field Supervisor, ensures that MVR activities are effectively executed and comply
with all the laid down guidelines and procedures. The Field Supervisor roles cut
across the pre-deployment, deployment and post-deployment stages of the MVR
process.
Duration of the Assignment:
This assignment will be on a full time basis for a period of a period of 1 year
and will possibly be renewed.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum qualifications
a) Under-graduate Degree qualifications in any field of study e.g. social

About the Role We now have an exciting opportunity for two researchers to work on a new topical studio talk show in Somalia.
Candidates will need to be Somali nationals and the role is based full‐ time in Mogadishu.
The primary challenge for this role is to source and security check as many as 50 studio audience
members per month. The researcher is also responsible for selecting and booking 8 high‐ profile
panellists per month. Therefore this role requires excellent social networks within Mogadishu and
rigorous organisational skills to ensure audience members turn up on the day. (There will be two
researchers working together on this task).
Reporting to the studio producer, director and Executive Producer, you will also originate discussion
points on pre‐ chosen topics, draw up suggested question lists and provide the Presenter with a
sheet of supporting facts and figures for recordings

About You:
A good nose for a story and the journalistic instinct to assimilate and select from large volumes of
material. Tenacity, persuasiveness, and the love of hard work.
You will be able to work creatively and to an extremely high standard with the ability to easily adapt
within a fast paced environment.
You will have strong research, editorial and negotiation skills and
be able to communicate your findings effectively and articulate yourself well.
You will have a good knowledge of the media landscape, including social media. Shooting skills are
desirable though not essential.
Excellent written and spoken Somali is a requirement as well as an understanding of Somali culture;
researchers will need to be polite and courteous to elders whilst remaining persuasive and
persistent in pursuit of their goal
