🇨🇦 This happened in Quebec, a predominantly French-speaking province in Eastern Canada, where a law was passed banning such religious symbols for some civil servants at work. It all makes sense now, doesn't it? Keyword = "French".

The Elementary school removed the teacher from her grade 3 classroom for wearing a Hijab. The school board said they had no choice as it is the law now that such religious symbols are not allowed in class.

Parents placed green ribbons on a fence outside the school as a show of solidary and support with the Muslim teacher. The now ex-teacher is still working at the school but in "another function" the school board said.
