Wow just did some editing of a previously transferred set of films by Max Spielman, the high street photo shop. The transfer hadn't been edited at all, and on one film there was an 8-minute long strip of blank/interference. Terrible transfer and they charge more than we do as well. Never take your films to a high street photo shop for transfer, in our experience they simply copy what is on the original with no care or thought given to the final product. 1-star service with a 5 star price!

After spending several days going through some old reel to reel audio tapes and finding nothing relevant to the customer, we are changing the way we price for this type of transfer. It will now be charged at a flat rate of £7.50 per hour of recorded material, whatever that material may be. It's not feasible to find and only record a few minutes of speech from several hours of music recorded from the radio, customers can use AUDACITY software free of charge to use and download to go through their own recordings and cut out the unwanted bits. Also, the tape decks for this work are becoming extremely expensive to buy second hand and this is reflected in the price of the transfer.

Reel to Reel audio transfer is extremely laborious, time-consuming and requires a lot of post-transfer work in the computer to bring back the polish, so we feel this price is justified and is still cheaper than most places.

Just saw some horrific bull fights on a cine film from a customer. Not only will we never copy this kind of footage it's also against the law to exhibit or distribute it. So if you have bull fights or the like it won't be transferred by Timeless Moments

Timeless Moments was incorporated 16 years ago today! In that time we have transferred around 10,000 different orders from thousands of people, companies, museums, schools, government, hospitals, charities, youth organisations, TV companies and more. We have transferred over 10,000 hours of 8mm cine film which is over 8 million feet or nearly 1600 miles. We have transferred thousands of hours of camcorder and VHS tapes and scanned around 70,000 slides to digital files.

This is the first in our series of, The Sights and Sounds of...

Each week or two we will be uploading beautiful footage of an interesting area in our locale. Often this will be the beautiful Derbyshire Dales but over the year we will also visit other sites around the UK. The footage doesn't have any added music or sounds, the idea is to present you with exactly what you would see and hear when you visit these locations. You will hear people talking, birds singing, water running, traffic and any other ambient sound.

The footage is recorded at 4K UHD at 50 frames per second and output at 200 Mbps using a Panasonic HC-X2000E Professional Camcorder. Sound is provided by a Sony MS2 shotgun microphone with a windsock.

You are welcome to use any footage but please credit Timeless Moments if you do by placing a link to our website in your description.

Highly Recommended Having over 3000 feet of Super 8 cine film to convert was a major exercise for Ian. At the time, Ian wrote the converted films onto DVD with titles and menus. The conversion job was done very well and it was nice to be able to see all those films once again and bring back so many memories. No more worries about the films deteriorating in the future. The quality of the DVD films was as good as can be expected since the original film quality governed the output. Since the original films were scanned in 2010, technology has improved and Ian has been very helpful in the benefits of rescanning again. I had a short film converted by another company but the quality of Timeless Moments conversion is far superior so I would have no hesitation to recommend Timeless Moments.

Timeless Moments Film Reconstruction We take your 720p (standard definition) footage and using brand new software that uses A.I. we can reconstruct the image to an astonishing degree. Here is a very short clip showing the before and after effect of this reconstruction to 4K. It also removes film grain and noise producing some very lifelike footage. We are really impressed with this but sadly the processing power required is huge. A three-inch reel would take over an hour to process. Hence it's not cheap, currently, we are pricing it at an additional 20p per foot and a lead time of 1 week per 1000 feet. This is not yet advertised on our website.

Super 8 Standard Definition Sample

We've carried out some work on our existing Super 8 telecine to improve stability of the image, we are quite pleased with the results. This was average cine film quality, some slight vinegar mould showing, but with remastering the contrast was brought back and the colours restored to normal with some added warmth.
