Hi everyone. Happy Friday. It's a sad anniversary today, as, John Peel died on this date, 20 years ago. A true original, you just don't get pioneers like him in the music industry, anymore. Obviously he was an inspiration to me and that's why I support underdogs, mavericks and artists of a unique persuasion via the shows I do for Big City Radio.
Which, leads me nicely on to tomorrow whereby I'll be showcasing some of the best music from around the world. Here is a flavour of what to expect; Beth Peabody, Al Monde, The Zac Schulze Gang, Eddie 9V, Ludwig Hart, Black Country Communion, Dan Whitehouse, Ian Prowse, Steph Maguire, Arpraxis & Kim Kondrashoff. On top of this I have listener requests, fab features and lashings of lampoonery. I hope you can join me at midday.

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday. "New Rose" was the debut release by The Damned, and it was released on this day in 1976 via Stiff Records. What a seminal moment in music history it proved to be - the UK's first ever punk rock single. 48 years later and it still sounds as fresh as ever. I was 12 at the time and it certainly diverted me from pretending to play (via a tennis racket) to buying my first guitar 2 years later. Happy days.
Talking of which, I'll be back on Big City Radio tomorrow night with this weeks Beautiful Indie Show. As per usual, the playlist is packed with indie related gems and here is a flavour of some of the amazing artists poised and ready for your ears; Dan Whitehouse, Secret Postal Society, This Twisted Wreckage, Lions in the Street, Beth Peabody, Ian Prowse, Ian Smith, Maven Grace, Fever Dreams , The Open Flames & 2 more fantastic tracks from the new LP 'When I Was You' by Otherish Mac Otherish. I'll also be ramming in three features as well as yapping between the silences. I hope you can join me tomorrow night at 7pm.

Hi everyone. Happy Saturday. Just a reminder that I'm not on Big City Radio today but the super Steve Evans is all limbered up and ready for you at midday.
A week today will be a special one as the rather spectacular Dan Whitehouse will be performing at The Rock and Roll Brewhouse Bar at 5pm ably supported by Ian Smith at 4.15pm. This really will be an excellent 2 hours of fine entertainment in one of the coolest venues in Brum - and, get this for you - it's free in!! Afterwards, I'll be hot footing it to The Hare & Hounds Kings Heath to see the majestic Ian Prowse in full band mode. Ian Prowse really is one of the nicest people I have ever met and a brilliant singer- songwriter. I can't wait for all of this to happen next Saturday. In the meantime, I'd better get ready for a wedding I'm attending today so please tune in to Big City Radio at 12pm. Finally, I'm sharing one of my favourite ever songs by Dan Whitehouse as a taster of what to expect on the 26th of October. Enjoy.

The title track of Dan Whitehouse's sixth album release. Dan uses his exceptional story-telling to look at how our human experience and ways of connecting ha...

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday. Life certainly does have a sting in the tail at times! Having never really suffered bites from any kind of insects; I've had two in the last four days. Ouch! Those bloody wasps can be a pain. The one on the back of my head was just about going down and then this morning, I put my hand on my steering wheel to set off for work - zing! My right hand looks a lot bigger than my left at the moment! How strange.
Anyway, something that will get me back on the straight and narrow is presenting The Beautiful Indie Show tomorrow on Big City Radio. The playlist is stuffed with indie goodness from the likes of; Drahla, The Bad Actors, Tension Splash, Rats on Rafts, Maggie Rogers, The Twilight Years, Al Monde, Kid Hyena, Roguefx ft Hollywood Brown, & 2 brand new tracks from Otherish Mac Otherish. I'm hoping to be with you at 7pm (traffic permitting) for more Moseley mirth.

14/10/2024

Hi everyone. Happy Monday. I hope the week has got off to a decent start. Well, after 6 attempts yesterday to fraudulently copy my Facebook profile - the pretender finally gave up after I kept reporting them to the support team. Let's hope that's the end of it! In the meantime, I can confirm that this is the real Wayne Moseley and last weeks Beautiful Indie Show is now ready to delve into via Mixcloud. As the playlist will testify; it contains a superb slab of indie associated songs as well as fab features, requests and chat between the tracks. I'll be back on Big City Radio this Wednesday and will post details / tag bands tomorrow. TTFN.

Hi everyone. Happy Friday. The weekend is within reach. Yippee! Well dear listeners, I've decided to dedicate the next Beautiful Freak Show to local home grown artists - hence the tag line "Moseleys Midlands Mavericks". For me, personally, its the most enjoyable aspect of what I do and that's because I get a free reign from Big City Radio which is ace! Here's a taster of the talent you can expect to hear; Big Special, Gary O'Dea / Gojo' Music, SAM Band, Emily Ewing Music, Le Fracture, Al Monde, Martin F Hubbard, Ian Smith, Weak13 & Rob Peters Music. I'll also be adding the fab features you have all embraced as well as chat between the tracks and interaction of a Brummie kind. I hope you can join me tomorrow at midday.

Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday and best greetings to the month of October which is derived from octo, Latin for “eight,” even though... it's the 10th month of the year! Despite the fact that it's a new month, the weather is still awful as is the traffic so I hope to brighten up your lives with The Beautiful Indie Show via Big City Radio - tomorrow night.
I can promise you 2 hours of brand new tracks from incredible indie artists such as; Arcane Moon, Faint line, Chinese American Bear, Read The Room, The Open Flames, The Pull of Autumn (featuring Luke Skyscraper James of this This Twisted Wreckage fame), Gia Ford, Hifi Sean, Ludwig Hart, Roguefx, Robert Jon & The Wreck, Kensington Road, Flores Blue, Miles and The Chain Gang and Allison Ponthier. Also included will be three fab features and plenty of witty 'Waynerisms'. I hope you can join me on Wednesday at 7pm.

Hi everyone. Hope you have had a top Tuesday, so far. I must admit that since returning home, after a lovely holiday with Mrs M, the traffic in this country is driving me mad! Getting to and from the day job is so bloody frustrating, it is unbelievable. What a waste of my valuable time. Ahhhhh!!!!
Anyway, to get rid of my frustration, I'll be blasting out stacks of fab new indie tracks tomorrow night on Big City Radio (that's if I get home in time, of course!). Having vetted 100's of new submissions over the past week, I've managed to pick the cream of the crop and some of awe-inspiring artists lined up include; Parlour Creepers, This Twisted Wreckage, Gustaf Ljunggren - Musik, Dan Whitehouse, Lava la Rue, Lions in the Street, Kensington Road, Arctic Lights, Talk In Code & The Howlers. I hope you can join me on The Beautiful Indie Show tomorrow at 7pm.

Hi everyone. Happy Friday. The Beautiful Freak Show celebrated it's 4 year anniversary yesterday so I'll be making sure that, after a 3 week break, tomorrow is a good one considering the amount of practice I've had since September 2020.
I'm extremely grateful to all of the support I've had from Big City Radio as well as the; artists, management companies, radio pluggers, record companies, co-hosts, contributors and listeners who have helped bring great joy to my life as I simply love presenting my shows. It's still brilliant that I get a free reign.
Back to tomorrow whereby, I can promise you fab features, majestic music, Brummie banter and plenty of interaction with my awesome audience. I hope you can join me for some midday mirth. TTFN.

Hi everyone. Happy Friday. August will soon be over! Where has this year gone? My favourite ever radio presenter - John Peel - was born on this day, 85 years ago. What a unique broadcaster he was and I have fond memories of listening to his shows on my tiny blue transistor radio when I was 11 years old. It opened up my mind to a world of music I was not aware of and has influenced me right up to the present day with the shows I put out on Big City Radio. Which leads me nicely on to tomorrows Beautiful Freak Show. Having being given the all clear after chemo, my fantastic friend - Lynne Ewington - returns to co-hosting duties with a show that will be bursting with uplifting, thought provoking and meaningful tracks to celebrate her amazing achievement. We can all relate to battles with the big 'C' so please join us at midday to raise a glass to beating this dreadful disease with music taking centre stage in the treatment room.
