Professor Peter Anyan’g Nyon’go’s political career dates back to 1992, when he was first elected to parliament. He served as a nominated MP from 1998 to 2002. From 2003 to 2005, Nyong'o served as the Minister for Planning and National Development, and from 2008 to 2013 he was the Minister for Medical Services before being elected the first Kisumu senator five years later in 2017 he was elected the second Kisumu governor and is currently serving his second term.
Being a liberator who participated in the post independence liberation movements Anyang was the first ODM secretary General and has at some point ran against Raila Odinga’s wish before getting back to him.

ODM family is mourning the death of ODM Branch Chairman for Alego-Usonga, Mzee John Orwenjo Umidha, who left last night after a period of illness.

Owenjo served as a mayor in SIAYA and would speak funny Swahili for he wasn't educated but served diligently.
Mzee was a committed and devoted member of the party, dedicating his life to furthering our cause.
May his soul rest in peace.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOMALIA AND SOMALILAND.
Many have been asking me this question today to allow me to start walking you through the answers.
First things first I will take you through the creation of Somalia.
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF SOMALIA.
The country of Somalia was formed in 1960, when British Somaliland gained its independence from Britain and joined its much larger neighbor to east and south, Italian Somaliland.

Nine years later, General Siad Barre took over in a bloodless coup and steered the young country toward the Soviet Union. Somalia was strategically placed along Africa's longest coastline, and the Soviets welcomed a new proxy in the Horn of Africa.

This all changed in 1977 when General Siad Barre invaded the Somali-majority Ogaden region of southeastern Ethiopia.
Previously Ethiopia had been aligned with the US, but after the Derg military junta seized power in 1974, the Soviets had begun supporting Somalia's communist neighbor.
Forced to choose between allies, the Soviets sided with the Derg junta, and sent arms and military advisers. Cuba's Fidel Castro provided an additional 13,000 troops, and Ethiopia repelled the Somali army in 1978.

Today Fire broke out at Bukhalalire Secondary School dormitory in Busia and Ortum Boys in West Pokot destroying property but causing no injuries just a day after a similar incident at Njia Boys High School in Meru.

The recent fires follow a series of school blazes since the tragic incident at Hillside Endarasha Academy where 21 students lost their lives.

Just days ago three students were injured in a fire at Isiolo Girls High School.

The recurrence of these fires is heightening fears about student safety across Kenyan schools.
