The 7th chapter of Taktschleife comes straight from the island of Maltese techno producer Owen Offset. As a part of Malta-based rave institution „Techno is the answer" and releases on labels like Analogue Audio, Plus Rec. or Bunker Rec., he received huge support by the global techno scene. Now he lands here with the „Reincarnation EP", which comes pumped including remixes by S.M.O.D. and Davinson.
„Reincarnation" in original is a dark and driven sub-loaded tune for the sweaty hours. Rollin' pattern and sleek chord cuts set the agenda for a massive synth fire, that reincarnates in a wild and freakish sound carpet. Metamorphosis accomplished.
Davinson, who recently released the „Overdose EP" earlier this year, strikes back with a banging remix. By keeping up the voltage, he counts on powerful percussions and excellently arranged breaks which kicks it off for full excitement.
Second remix is slammed by Taktschleife home department and headquarter guys S.M.O.D.! Mighty drums out of the machines provide a subtle but intense techno mood, and capture the mind with a rhythmic and hypnotizing vibe.
S.M.O.D. did it again. “The balance of the mind is it s own place” is ravishing the listener with a surprisingly bold brush stroke. Nothing is as it seems.
Pacey, striving forward, forcing movement the EP is creating a strong counterpoint to it s titles. And seduces to pose the philosophical question: do we reach balance through stillness? All three titles are the gorgeous techno manifestation of a place not being a location, but rather a condition, a space of movement. The three dimensional music experience is thudding, chanting, whispering: don’t settle. The musical, magnetic depth reminds of their first release, this time musical anticipation is key, movement philosophy. Dance!
