Liebe Leute,

als wir vor 19 Jahren mit diesem kleinen Label angefangen haben, hätten wir nie gedacht mal eine Platte in den Offizielle Deutsche Charts zu haben.
Nun ist uns das zum dritten Mal gelungen. Nach Platz 19 vor 3 Jahren für 100 Kilo Herz haben unsere Leipziger nochmal nachgelegt und belegen aktuell mit "Zurück nach Hause" Platz 16 in den Charts. Wahnsinn!

Glückwunsch Jungs! Das habt ihr euch verdient! Eure Scheibe hat dies gestern auf dem grandiosen BEER NOW OPEN in Bernau gefeiert, vor einer Woche erste geschlüpft, sitzt sie schon im Kinderwagen und darf Bier trinken. Heute wird sie sicher einen Kater haben, denn sie ist noch mit Gordy von Inwiefern mitgegangen. Und wie schon Westernhagen einst sang: "Strausberger Nächte sind lang!"

Heute mal ein Release mit Seiten statt auf Vinyl: Anna Groß von SPRINGSTOFF gibt mit Marie Jäger zusammen ein Buch heraus: „It‘s more than just rap - HipHop in der Jugendarbeit“. Seit heute ist es überall im Handel erhältlich. Eine Buchveröffentlichungs-Party gibt es dann im Oktober.
„Die vielfältigen Ausdrucksformen von Rap und HipHop bieten wunderbare Gesprächsanlässe für die Arbeit mit jungen Menschen. 🚀 Die Corona-Krise hat uns alle vor große Herausforderungen gestellt. Doch während viele von uns mit den Auswirkungen der Pandemie zu kämpfen hatten, hat Julian Maier-Hauff seine Kreativität genutzt, um neue Wege zu gehen und die Krise zu überwinden.

🎶 Zusammen mit anderen Künstlern hat er Musik gemacht und Samples aus bereits vorhandenen Aufnahmen verwendet. Das Ergebnis ist das Album "Corona Collage" und die Dokumentation "Kunst aus Krise - über Julian Maier-Hauff". Das Album wird am 6. Today we release the title single of our upcoming album BAZAAR BIZARRE, فلسطين وين أنا؟

This song derives from two dreams: while .bass woke up dreaming of the guitar riff, Jamila dreamt of a surreal scene in Palestine, finding herself on top of an abandoned, bombed-out building without walls, not knowing how to escape and get back to the ground: “Like a stunt woman in an action movie, I eventually jumped from the 10th floor, rolled down a hill, and landed inside a crazy suq/bazaar scenery. I saw huge pyramids of za3tar (the Palestinian gold, a special thyme spice mix) through which snakes slid and whispered to me. I felt the immense absurdity of ‘crazyland,’ which is what I call this place, poisoned by the occupation.” BAZAAR BIZARRE فلسطين وين أنا؟ is more than this surreal dream: it describes the sickness of the Palestinian community torn apart, scattered all over the globe in diaspora, many of whom will never have the „right“ passport and privileges to at least visit their homeland. So we dream of it. We dream that home is a surreal bazaar, in which we still have to hide our identities as avatars, to protect ourselves from the growing anti-Palestinian racism.

Back in Berlin freuen wir uns mit KID BE KID über die neue Single "News Feed". Man starrt dreißig Minuten lang auf das Mobiltelefon, schaltet es schließlich aus und denkt sich: "Ich schaue mir die Nachrichten an, und nichts ist besser als vorher. Das Gegenteil von dem, was ich brauche, aber schon nach einer Sekunde will ich mehr haben." Also nimmst du es wieder auf. Und am Ende deines Lebens denkst du dann so: "Was habe ich getan, was so toll war? Ah ja! Auf mein Mobiltelefon gestarrt!" News Feed ist eine selbstironische Zusammenfassung dessen, wie süchtig wir nach diesen gemeinen kleinen Bildschirmen sind. Wir befinden uns jetzt mit Jamila & The Other Heroes in Palästina und Deutschland. Ya Habibi, La! يا حبيبي، لا ist die erste Single vom kommendem zweiten Studioalbum Bazaar Bizarre (سوق مجنون). Jamila bezieht in ihren Texten auf Arabisch und Englisch klar Stellung gegen jegliche Form von Diskriminierung wie Rassismus und Sexismus. Mit ihrer Musik möchte sie die Menschen dazu ermutigen, ihre Stimme zu erheben und zu heilen.
In Ya Habibi, La! يا حبيبي، لا verarbeitet Jamila einen sexualisierten Übergriff, den sie letzten Sommer nach einem Konzert in München erlebt hat. Diese verstörende Erfahrung hat ihr und den Clubbesitzer*innen gezeigt, wie wichtig es ist, in der Musikszene Bewusstseinsstrukturen zu schaffen. Wir müssen alle besser aufeinander aufpassen, auch unter Musiker*innen, Freund*innen und Gästen. Um diesen Vorfall zu verarbeiten, wandte sich Jamila an befreundete Musikerinnen wie Alin Coen, Naima Husseini, Joy Tyson und Carina Sperk, um sich über ihre Erfahrungen auszutauschen und sie einzuladen, einen starken, feministischen Chor für die Bridge des Songs zu schreiben:

We are now in Palestine and Germany with Jamila & The Other Heroes. Ya Habibi, La! يا حبيبي، لا is the first single from the upcoming second studio album Bazaar Bizarre (سوق مجنون). Jamila takes a clear stand against all forms of discrimination such as racism and sexism in her lyrics in Arabic and English. With her music, she wants to encourage people to raise their voices and heal.
In Ya Habibi, La! يا حبيبي، لا, Jamila processes a sexualized assault she experienced last summer after a concert in Munich. This disturbing experience showed her and the club owners* how important it is to create awareness structures in the music scene. We all have to take better care of each other, even among musicians, friends and guests. On Sunday 23rd October, the Springstoff label is hosting an essential showcase at Amsterdam's Dante. Under the title of SPRINGSTOFF Berlin, key label associates and representatives of the real Berlin underground will be playing including a live show from KIDSØ, plus sets from Mila Stern, , Oliver Deutschmann and Sylvie Maziarz.

These forward-thinking artists cover a broad spectrum, much like the Springstoff label itself whose next release is a 12" of gorgeous ambient from . As such the party will offer everything from live and organic soundscapes to raw Berghain style techno, crisp tech house and industrial-tinged rave from artists who play a key role in shaping the modern Berlin sound thanks to close ties with pivotal clubs and labels like Kater Blau, Embassy of Music, Sisyphos and Klub Verboten.

Leading the charge is the .official duo with a live set that will feature their trademark synthesizers, drums, kalimbas and percussions.
