New video dropped today from Boldly director & CG animator Jordan Clarke for Shawn Hook’s hit single Bigger Than The Night 🎆

Inspired by the emotionally evocative lyrics and melodies of the song, Jordan crafted a visual narrative that not only complements the music but elevates it, creating an immersive experience that invites viewers to embark on a journey that is, indeed, bigger than the night. But most intriguingly, it incorporates a blend of live action motion capture with virtual reality through MetaHuman and Unreal Engine.

The storyline, featuring Shawn Hook’s avatar and two characters embarking on a subway journey, transcends a mere night-time adventure, touching upon themes of discovery, connection, and the boundless nature of imagination💫

Absolutely blown away by the magic that unfolded at in Park City! 🎥✨

Our hearts are full after sharing “Ask The Plantain,” “Our Grandmother The Inlet,” and “Hair Or No Hair” with incredible audiences. From the inspiring screenings to the buzzing networking events, insightful panels, and unforgettable conversations, every moment felt electrified.

We saw thought-provoking films of all kinds - shorts, features, documentaries. We cried. We laughed. We clapped. The creativity, the storytelling, the sheer brilliance!

But what truly made this experience unforgettable was the community of filmmakers. A collective of passionate, talented, and utterly genuine individuals. Diving into your stories and sharing our own was a privilege 💕

Without a doubt, we’ll be back one day.

Director has been selected as an official Young Guns 21 Finalist! ✨🎞️

Jordan’s work explores the connective fabric which intertwines humans with one another as well as the universe around us. He combines visually striking imagery with moments of energized emotion to create a sincere relationship with his audience.

We’re so lucky to have been a part of Jordan’s projects over the years. He is an incredible collaborator and it has truly been special watching him make films from the heart. More to come 🤍

Today, we are over the moon to share that ‘Our Grandmother The Inlet’ will be having its world premiere at the 42nd Annual Vancouver International Film Festival, ✨🎞️

Kayah George, a young Tsleil-Waututh woman and her grandmother Ta7a, daughter of the late Chief Dan George, reflect on their relationship to water, culture, and land.

We are so proud of directors and for bringing to life a very important story in such an impactful way. ‘Our Grandmother The Inlet’ is a testament to their hard work and passion for creating films that inspire. We are honoured to be on this journey with them.

We are thrilled to announce that Bloom, directed by Kasey Lum, will be having its world premiere at the 48th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Driven by a bravura performance from Jodi Balfour, Bloom is a stark drama about heartbreak that doubles as a provocative rumination about the interconnected mess of humans and nature. Produced by Angelica Stirpe, Kristoff Duxbury, and Boldly.

It's exciting to have the dedication and talents of the entire team pay off. Boldly is proud to support the independent film community and produce visionary projects like Bloom. Our Boldly Originals branch is steadily growing and we are honoured to be attending TIFF this year. See you there!

What an incredible experience our .ornohair team had at over these past few days! A truly successful world premiere and it was so inspiring meeting other filmmakers and watching their beautiful films.

Congrats to Writer & Director for taking home the award for Outstanding Dramatic Actress! Not only did she direct such a powerful film, but she also starred in it and delivered an award-winning performance ✨

Sometimes a project comes across our desk that we couldn’t possibly say no to. Ask The Plantain is one of those projects. It’s important, it’s relevant, and Jaime Leigh Gianopoulos’ passion is simply undeniable. She is a visionary with something refreshing to say.

The film explores the grief and liminal space that exists between not belonging to the lands one was born on, nor to the lands one came from.

After five years and twelve rejections, Jaime continued to believe in her story and persevere with grace. Eventually she approached Boldly to partner with her to help bring the project to life and together we received production funding from the Canada Council for the Arts. In May of 2022, we travelled to Crete and Sparta with a dream team of four powerful women to shoot the film. It was truly a magical experience with .hankins and many local collaborators 🎥✨

With Boldly’s support, Jaime is offering Ask The Plantain as an artistic way to contribute to the ongoing conversations and to inspire others to embark on their own unique ancestral reclamation journeys. We believe this film contains a blueprint for navigating the cycles of life, death, and rebirth and that it can contribute to a deeper understanding of where we come from, why we are here, and what we have to offer.

This work is for all of us to take on.

With a rough cut in place, now we are asking our community to please support us and Jaime in raising finishing funds to bring the film to its full cycle of completion.

We know times are tough at the moment, but if you have the means and are feeling curious about the lessons embedded within Ask The Plantain, we would be forever grateful for your contribution.

Film BOLDLY

BOLDLY was created in 2013 by a collective of filmmakers from Vancouver, British Columbia. At the time, it was three producers, a big dream, and several pots of coffee.

Today, our core team has grown to four full-time producers and 70+ crew in various roles on set and in post-production. Our collective of filmmakers has grown together and become a solid team for executing commercial production on demanding concepts and timelines. Their backgrounds range from stop-motion animation to live action narratives and their skillsets are as varied as the stories they tell: they’ve created both French and English commercial content for nationally recognized brands: Campbells Goldfish Crackers and Ferrero Rocher; branded films for Game of War, Vancouver Art Gallery, LONDRË, and Deloitte; and internationally recognized and award-nominated music videos for PUP, Nicky Romero and Marianas Trench; we have screened independent projects at VIFF, TIFF, Berlinale, and Montreal among other film festivals.

We pride ourselves on our ability to operate agile productions: our varied body of work has given us the tools to quickly mobilize crew, art, camera, gear and talent without compromising on quality. We fill every role with versatile, talented professionals, and our curated international roster of directors are making epic new content worthy of global brands.
