Q & A with Australian directors Frans Vandenburg and Claude Gonzalez for their documentary: "John Farrow - Hollywood's Man In the Shadows. A comprehensive exploration of the Australian born filmmaker with over 50 writing and directing credits in Hollywood, whose enigmatic life was filled with personal contradictions. Farrow is not well known in Australia, so this film addresses the importance of his films which include an Oscar win for Screenplay for Around the World in 80 Days (1956) and an Oscar nomination for Direction for Wake Island (1942). The documentary has already screened overseas at Il Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Italy, as well as winning an award at the Madrid International Film Festival. The Australian premiere is next month at the Sydney Film Festival, and will then be rolled out in cinemas by Ronin Films.

The film combines some incredible sourced footage of the fires, and the impact in particular on the volunteer firefighters and the psychological impact. The film releases in cinemas nationally on October 7, courtesy of Icon distribution.

The 5 members of that group have relocated to other countries, but the issue currently is that Afghani musicians are at great risk from the Taliban, and there needs to be world-wide support in getting these musicians out of Afghanistan before any crackdown occurs. Travis Beard talks about the Sound Central Festival which he founded in Kabul and his involvement with the current campaign to rescue musicians from the crackdowns in Afghanisatan.
