For thousands of years, First Peoples have thought ethically and consciously about sustainability and waste, and only now is the rest of the world catching up. Garments bursting with the colours and shapes of Country are on display as part of Australiaā€™s first major survey of Indigenous fashion.

Created by Bendigo Art Gallery and curated by Shonae Hobson, Piinpi: Contemporary Indigenous Fashion shines a light on Australiaā€™s leading First Nations creatives, and a design movement that has become a national fashion phenomenon.

For the First Peoples of Australia, Country is more than place. It describes a deep connection to land, water and sky, to animals and plants, to ancestors and to the wisdom of the land itself.

Each person has their own relationship to Country, grounded in mutual respect.

Biik Milboo Dhumba | Country Is Always Talking offers a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of Country and the ways it connects to language and culture.

Check out the Biik Milboo Dhumba exhibition today at the Melbourne Museum

Listen to people of the Eastern Kulin Nations as they share what it means to connect with Country.

Antopia is an immersive digital adventure for all ages that brings to life the awe and wonder of natureā€™s little giants through a kaleidoscope of multisensory installations, interactive projections, atmospheric soundscapes and stunning imagery.

Developed in-house by Museums Victoria, the creators of 2022ā€™s award-winning exhibition Tyama, Antopia pushes the boundaries of whatā€™s possible in a museum, embracing new ways of communicating through the contemporary fusion of art and science.

Visitors can explore the hidden world beneath their feet, shrinking down to the size of an ant and experiencing a day in the life of the miniscule yet mighty insect.
