This Sunday, Charlie Miller is commencing a new program called Frantic Items, in my old timeslot of Sunday 6-8pm on 3RRR.

I wish him only good things and send him only congratulations. I vacated my old timeslot when I felt I'd done what I wanted to do, and now someone else gets to present a show.

Community radio has to work that way.
He's giving it a go! So...please give him one.

I've left all my old playlists here if people want to look at 'em, and you can always dial up old Under the Sun episodes via the RRR website.

Subscribers (that's all of you, right? Yes? ha) can access archives even further back. Not to when life was in black and white and your dad used a coathanger as a TV aerial, but back enough a-ways.

Hey friendly Under the Sun peeps. Got some news. Tonight I will be letting listeners know I have decided to finish the show up March 20. It's my idea, the station has been sweet 'n' supportive about it, and all is well. You guys get a heads- up because you're extra special fans. I've always appreciated the messages, comments, phone calls, subscriptions at Radiothon time, film donations (no, seriously!) free alcohol deliveries and just general love. I mean, why do a radio show if no one is listening and no one likes it? So, thank you.

That said, it's just time. Simple as that. I've done what I'm going to do. I'm really honoured you took the time to listen and appreciate it.
Been at this radio thing for 33 years (like a record, it's spun me right round), 29 of 'em at Triple R. It's time to be moving along now.
So you got me tonight (March 6) then March 13, last show March 20.

As Henry Rollins once told my daughter 'whatever you do, just keep listening to music.'
And remember: this thing we've built together for 46 years now, is not for sale. You own it. Support it , whatever your view of how it is travelling, and the rewards will be returned many times over.
